But as you might have guessed from the title, gold selling is a crime under a formerly little-known law called the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. The CFAA gained prominence a few years ago, thanks to Lori Drew.

That's one of those really sticky situations, where you have to determine if selling fake items to people online for real money crosses any laws currently in affect. I can see it, and to be honest I really, really hate gold sellers, I say BOOK'EM DANNO!

I was always under the impression that you were selling Blizzards stuff, thus "fencing" stolen goods. I may be wrong tough.

That's part of the argument, Saturo. Who owns the online items? Is it the player, because they pay the subscription fee, or is it Blizzard? I think the law is firmly established in some areas, not so much in others. It's really just a massive headache. The sad thing is, some people make their living's off of selling gold in MMO's. Think about THAT for a little while.
