I decided to try my luck at stonecore, ive never sucessfully killed the first pack.. but now that I was geared up I figured why the heck not and tried.

First pack I forgot which guy was the most painful.. and died. Managed to come back and kill them, second pack whoops my bad died again but managed to come back and clear it all. Quick camo run to slabhide and he wasnt that bad actually.

I also came prepared brining 3 Sbs for heals just incase

I used my terrorpene first but had troubles keeping him up so I switched to my karkin and it seemed easier.. switching back and forth it seems between the two

Its not easy .. the packs are painful.. but eh its worth it.

eeee I am sooo happy!! I took a SS in the fight cause I dont know there was some bonding going on with my turtle and him which was really cute. Maybe voltaire convinced him to come with us I dont know but its awesome! 38 runs and ive got a new awesome mount!

I tried to solo Stonecore once and failed x_x Good luck though! If you can do it I will feel better about it and try again...after I get TLPD that is. lol

This guide, written by myself, has pretty much all the info you need to know on soloing Stonecore on normal. It does take some time to get used to the mobs and how to handle them, so don't worry or get worked up about it. I know I did, but 5-6 attempts later I was getting the hang of it. The guide will show you which mobs need to be killed first, which can be left/avoided and which need to be CC'd. I wrote this a couple of months ago, and since then new gear has come out. I started to solo Stonecore when I was still in Cataclysm blues, so it really isn't that hard at all once you know what you're doing, and it should be even easier now if you have some of the newer gear.

But good luck on your hunt! It took me a few painful weeks of soloing normal mode over and over but I did it, and claimed my mount on the 65th run. I even filmed my final run!

Aww thank you I will for sure look at it! Once I can get millhouse and the stone guy down its alot easier for me. Sas has really good gear so it helps alot but I still manage to sometimes really mess myself up

I am going on my 4 official attempt now.

I tried surv spec but unfortunately my pet doesnt last as long as I needed so.. im doing it purely bm spec.

Actually I find it alot easier now, attacking millhouse first trap down for the berserker and its pretty smooth sailing. Unfortunately you can no longer skip the first pack first and attack the second as it pulls the first pack. Then it sucks.. alot.

One important thing, that REALLY helps that I managed to somehow leave out of the guide, is to have the Glyph of Mending. It makes things so, so much nicer. And yes, try doing it purely in BM spec. BM manages to give you a lot more control over your pet than other specs, and I really do suggest using a spirit beast for killing the mobs. It has the healing bonus to it so I would pick using it over a cat for sure, and for Slabhide I would use a turtle/warp stalker pet. I'm sure other tenacity pets could work well too, but those are the two I used most. I also managed with a shale spider once too.

Hmm yah its kinda odd but my Ankha is holding better agro then my terrorpene did on those trash mobs.

Nice thing about this is that im making alot of gold just by killing these mobs which is great!

Apparently the drop chance is around 1/165 kills. I know that sounds harsh, but the chances are you'll get it before then. Even I was pretty unlucky with all the runs I did for it but don't pressure yourself to do all those runs in just a few days, but congrats on already being able to do 13! What was funny with mine is when it dropped, I was so happy, and then a few hours later I wanted to do a random HC. So I got Stonecore HC on random and, of course, the mount dropped. That was two times in a row for me. And it feels weird passing on a rare mount...

Kinda bored playing wow so I didnt mind doing it actually. I kinda enjoy it especially now that I can do it alot faster with using my spirit beasts instead of my turtle. Slabhide is pretty easy the only thing that makes it difficult is when the stone pillars give me los issues on my turtle, it can make healing more difficult thats for sure.

Wow on a random to? Thats pretty awesome! Sas has .. not to bad of luck, I got the aeonaxx mount in less then a week, the blue proto drake in less then 3 weeks, and the camel mount the 5th time just casually looking. I really like the look of the stone drakes which is why I dont mind spending time there.

Of course looking for tlpd still 3 months down the line.. 59 vyras.. so it kinda evens itself out. Anzu and barons mount was the worst.

Sas has 379ilevel so atleast with her gear its pretty quick runs

A good idea for the pillars is to call your pet back to you while Slabhide is in the air and making the pillars fall down, just keep running around to keep your pet out of the shadows. I had LOS issues too and it would often cause a wipe if my pet got stuck in a pillar for too long. They really need to fix that.

I tried that and for some reason it did make it more difficult sometimes.. I spend alot of time moving about but ive managed to get slabhide down in 3 mins so its not too bad

I really dont mind the fight so much anymore, now that I dont have so much difficulty with the mobs and heck im making a good chunk of gold to. 14 runs and almost 600g thats pretty good I pick up the embersilk to and a stack sells for around 50g so the thrill of finally being able to do this when a month ago I didnt even get the first pack down, and of course the whole maybe itll drop is pretty fun.

What about using 2 pieces of Tier 5? Is that still a viable option?

I never use that for anything I solo, isn't needed imo.

I have yet to die since run 3 which is great so healing isnt that bad. Its the drop rate thats bad but im all for smacking around a gnome, making him run like hell and then go splat by a worm. It never gets old

Though run 60+ it may get old..

Oh I had troubles the first time to, but the trick is to place a trap at your feet, md to your pet and send it in and healing him like mad. You wanna trap the beserker if you can (he'll will charge you normally) and go for millhouse first, then the stone guy scattershot works great on him! Once you get the first packs its soo much easier Took me 4 runs before I did it without dying and Sas has great gear 379ilevel, its just all about practice.

now to find something else to farm.. dont know if you can farm vortex pinnacel

You can farm Vortex Pinnacle! I've tried it a couple of times though, a while back, and I just kept dying... I might have to try again now that I have better gear.
