So these pictures are a -little- bit on the older side, but I am still proud of them none the less...

Nearly a year ago now, at around 3:00am-ish I begin hearing a cat cry on my porch downstairs...Now, I own many other cats, and any cat owner who's owned more then one or two at a time knows that eventually you learn what they all sound like individually...and this particular cry, wasnt one of my cats.

So, in the dark of night, I wandered around in the dark chasing this itty bitty black ball of fluff that kept crying for his momma. After about an hour and a half of making trilling and purring sounds to draw him out, I snatch him up. He nearly fits in my hand he's so small. He promptly bites me as hard as he can and doesn't let go. I bring him inside, and Ive loved him ever since.

He might be just a plain, common, ordinary all black cat, but he's mine. <3 Here's Felix.

He's gorgeous! As an owner of a black kitty myself I'd know.
He's so photogenic too! I can't photograph my cat because more times than not it just looks like a big black mass. I usually have to get him from a side profile just so you know you are looking at a cat

It actually took me a -very- long time to figure out how to correctly catch him on camera. The white background is a blanket of mine I cleaned up nice and shiny just for the purpose of my little "Photoshoot" of him. I then had my upper ceiling fan lights all pointed down at him, including ANOTHER lamp also pointed down in the direction I had him. He's actually just sitting on my couch.

I then had to take the time to break up a bunch of itty bitty pieces of ham. This cat here is an absolute sucker for "junk food" as I call it. So after feeding him a couple of pieces just to get it into his head that I wanted him to stay there, he eventually would hold still JUST long enough for me to capture about 4 or 5 really quick shots, before he'd get annoyed that I wasnt feeding him. I took at -least- about 100+ shots of him. And a large number of those included him licking his lips, heh. Which thankfully *ONE* of them actually turned into quite the decent photo, shown above.

He got fed quite nicely, and I got I believe about 12 or so shots of him that I actually really enjoyed out of the 100+ that I took. It took about an hour, and I had to be quick, but I think it was well worth it for the memories. <3

He is a shadowcat So cute, and I love how shiny his fur is, and how he kept kicking your hand with his hind legs in the second video. Mine does that too

Over the years, I've had four different black shorthairs, but none of them have been ordinary!

Such a handsome boy! He looks identical to my black cat Hexter. Honestly, if I didn't know any better I'd say those were photos of Hex. =o

I have a black longhaired cat we adopted a few years go (abandoned as a kitten, around 5 weeks old).

Thank you for all the lovely comments and replies. Im glad everyone thinks he's pretty. lol.

I'll have to try to get some more shots of him up later on. These were just the best ones Ive got right now. And I have other videos, somewhere in the deep dark reaches of my hard drive. >.< heh

Oh, he is very pretty indeed! By the way, he's also rather rare, thanks to middle ages and the witch hysteria, pure black cats vere almost extinct, at least in Europe, most black cats have small white marks on chest or feet now ^_^

My cat is pure black! Well, one of them is. Though in his old age, his whiskers have for some reason turned white. It's probably like 'going gray' for humans.

Yeah, I want your kitty. I love black cats. I remember wanting a black cat about 11 years ago, but I left the shelter with two white ones... not sure how that happened but I always wanted a black cat. I'm so jelly of your kitty! He's so handsome
