I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before or not, but I believe that the Cinderweb Broodling (Molten Green Skin) is no longer tamable, making Kirix unique.

I went out into the Molten Front to check for rares for my rare hunter channel, and for some odd reason wanted to tame a little cinderweb just to have all the little spiders attack me. No other reason... but lo' and behold... they are no longer tamable.

You're sure that's one of the ones from the packs, not the kind that spawn after one of the other mobs dies? The latter has always been untameable.

If all the cinderweb broodlings are now untameable, I guess I'm sort of in luck - I was keeping mine (Harold) just in case this ever happened but finally decided to let him go so I had him in my active stable slots. When going to check for Skarr last night, who did I find and tame? Kirix, of course. :b Traded one green spider for another.

This isn't the correct mob-- from where you are in the minimap, and seeing the spiderlings sitting around rather than running around madly in circles, this is the untameable version that we've always known is untameable. The packs of green spiders that patrol very quickly around the entire spider area should still be tameable.

Oh well I feel dumb now.
you know what though...I thought back and have to honestly say this is the first time I've seen these guys. So sorry about the confusion ^_^;

No worries - it's a very common mistake, and easy to make! ^^
