Hi all! I just recently came back to WoW after a nine month long hiatus, and I'm really digging all the new stuff. Practically the first thing I did when coming back was start looking for rares - I had released a lot of the doubles from my stables before I stopped playing, thinking it was silly to have more than one cat/wolf/etc.

Rare hunting was always something I loved doing in this game, so I started right back up again upon returning. And now my stable is full of doubles again.

Last night, after doing the new dailies in Hyjal/the Molten Front, I flew around out of curiousity to see if anyone was up. Within a minute or two I ran right into a really neat looking glowy owl flying waaaaaaaaaaay up high. You all know who I mean. Well... I had remembered hearing about this guy, but wasn't prepared at all to deal with him.

I have no depth perception in this game. It took me like ten tries to land on that silly tree. And even after getting up there, I fell off again in a flailing "NOW WHAT DO I DO??!!" panic. Meanwhile people were coming and going, doing dailies, but thankfully no one seemed to want anything to do with the rare spawn.

I even died a few times after getting frustrated by trying to land on the tree - there was a post on wowhead about trying to disengage in midair into the lake. I missed. Twice.

EVENTUALLY, I did manage to get on that tree and stay there, lay a trap, fly up and pull Mr. Owl.



Now I seem to have a spirit beast infestation. I have six. What the heck do I need with six?

I have my eye on those ghostly cats there too.

All I can say is, congrats and welcome to the club. ;) I recently finished my hunt for all nine Spirit Beasts.

I suppose five could be handy - fill your active slots with em and you can heal a ton without having to wait for cooldowns. XD Upwards from five though, do tell if you find any other way to abuse it.

Ban'thalos is probably my new favourite SB on my collector. So shiny! <3 Him not being a cat or a wolf is a big plus, too.

Congrats!! He looks very handsome with your hunter ^_^ I really disliked looking at this pet around the city and such, as he gave me a headache. Once I found my own though (and a bottle of Advil), my opinion has pretty much reversed... I love mine. I feel bad that other people might get headaches from him though He sure is great in BGs though, much easier to see than the other SBs.

I'm 8/9 myself. The one I'm missing is Ankha, and I'm definitely not going to camp her. If I happen to see her doing a fly-over I'm sure I'll grab her, but I am not sure how much I'd ever use her :\

Did you name Mr Owl yet?

His name is Spook. I name all of my spirit beasts "ghost" names (Specter, Ghost, Mist, Phantom, etc... well except for my Skoll, his name is Kilowatt). The flapping is a bit annoying, I've never ever been able to tolerate flying pets. BUT, I do like the glowing "streamers" Ban'thalos's wings have, so that might outweigh the bad. I've been rotating through which spirit beast to bring, so I'm sure Spook will be included.

I've got all the spirit beasts except Ghostcrawler. XD I dont like him.

I think Ghostcrawler may have been my first, and when I really started to hunt for rares.
(Well, there was Mazzaranche since day 1...)

It's funny that you didn't have problems taming your Owl. On my server, a lot of people attempt to kill him and die in the process... but come back for more. Why, when he drops F all but a tear I don't know...

Anyway, you need to get your hands on either Magria or Ankha, they're both very beautiful. <3

I'd like to tame Ankha. I need to start checking way early in the morning, since Hyjal is always full of people any other time - She pinged my rare finder addon a few nights ago, but another lucky hunter got her.

Grats on Banth! First time I tried taming him some Allied came by, aggro'd him and killed him. -_- But I finally got him when a guildie found him up and I also finished my spirit beast collection earlier last week. Spirit beasts are a bit of an addiction. xD Good luck though!

WELL... what a pleasant surprise! I had my eye on Anhka, since I thought she would match my hunter more than the blue spirit cat, and so I decided to check for her now and then. I'm actually out of town right now and passing time at the hotel playing WoW. Did all my dailies and decided to go look for her again, and there she was.



I have no idea what to name her. I'm sure something will come to me.

Grats on all the sparkly beasties. I too have them all, but my attention is currently focused on leveling my new mage. He's only lvl 55, but he'll get there soon.

I spent 16 hours on the tip of that dang tree waiting for Ban'thalos,who I named what else Eternity! And if I read your posts right your up to 7 Spiritbeast now,hehe just as well to get the other 2 make it a complete set.

Arcturis hates me. I've never ever been able to find him. And I still haven't even seen a tamed Magria let alone seen one in the wild. I think I'm happy with an incomplete spirit beast collection, but I may still check on the last two from time to time.

Right now I'm a bit obsessed with checking for a green madexx. Wish me luck!

That bear is funny no way around it,I've read and had lots of people tell me he was the easiest to get. I didnt think so he was the second last to complete my set. GL with Madexx I've only seen him once....when I was on my Druid of course!
