Skitterflame fluke?

Im new poster figured i would leave my tale. I decided to try taming Skitterflame without any info. Rarely do i do this. So to stat i grabbed the free haste buff you get from jumping rock to rock. I proceeded toward the spider from the ledge above. Got in place. Dropped my frost trap, hit concusion, detterance, then tame. The spider proceeded toward me, didnt hit the trap, but it looked like he spazzed for a second as he attacked me. My hp went down to about 40k. The whole time i was trying to hit tame, it didnt look like it was working, no cast bars no nothing. Then all of a sudden as he attacked me and i saw the glitch for a second, right after the glitch he was my pet. The tame was accomplished? Im happy but at a loss for words. The whole encounter lasted less than 10 sec. Which is weird to?
After I got him I read up on him and found out you need to lower his energy by using ice and keeping him away from lava. IDK maybe the haste buff, and me being at higher place? Anyone have an opinion?

Oh wow. I've never heard of Skitters getting tamed like that. The haste buff definitely had a lot to do with it for sure.
Though I imagine this is skitter....
"Aha! A potential meal! I'm gonna...wait how...do I get up there? Wait here we go....ah to hell with it. I'll be his friend."

That made me laugh, but I am gonna agree that it must've been the haste buff. When I got my Skitter, I saved him from a druid who in General said, "Why is Skitterflame so hard to kill?" Thank god he didn't though....ahem...moving on.
The haste buff must've glitched, because I have people tame Skarr/Karkin instantly.

Me and some other hunters I have told have used that buff during the Kirix tame. I didn't realize that it could even work for Skitter. I have never actually seen Skitter tamed the way he was intended to because when hunters use their traps they overdo it and he dies. I have seen Skitter tamed when hunters just scare beast him... but this is even stranger since it sounds like he didn't even get trapped and he wasn't scared. I would have thought he would have ate you for dinner for sure. Lol

i myself am wondering how you tamed him without his energy bar being low enough, unless it was and it wasnt mentioned, 10 secs doesnt seem long enough time for the energy to drop to taming levels

im thinking.. go go haste buff glitch.
These rares can glitch alot for no apparent reason, by all sense he should have charged each time you tried to tame him and punt you in the air so... just think of it as a glitch. I tried the one on the ledge and its essnetially all luck the whole spazzing is him having pathing issues, he gets confused a bit and doesnt move properly towards you which is probably what you saw, and the haste speed buff just almost instant tamed him.

The exact same thing has happened to me twice now with Karkin , Ankha and Magria.
