Cataclysm press beta invites going out

In the pre-invite email, Blizzard says that they're gearing up for the Cataclysm beta, and that a Battle.net account is required to participate. Members of the press with a BNet account who received the email can then sign up for the invite pool.

you opt into the beta pool with your battle.net account settings.

Good reminder, AdamSavage.
Even if you are not press, you should go check out your Battle.net beta settings now ... just to be prepared.

I already set mine up today. I hope I get to beta the expansion that would be epic.

Unfortunately, Zangor, Blizzard doesn't agree with you.
I've considered joining their fan site program, but one of the requirements is that your site is updated at least once a day. That would be silly on Petopia or Warcraft Mounts, and even on the blog I can't really keep that up. I guess technically the forum is updated every day, but I don't think they'd count that.

Signed myself in last night for beta. And I think Blizz should make an exception in your case Mania...after all, who has the BEST hunter site out there??? YOU DO! and I think it's high time Blizz knows this. I say we all send Blizz a note telling them to give Mania press status!

Heh! I appreciate the support, and I won't tell you no ... but I don't expect Blizzard to bypass their own policies for me. Even if I do have the best community ever.

Aw, Blizzard can suck an egg if they don't count Mania's work as a fansite, imo.
I'm not really wanting to opt into beta to be honest... I'd rather wait for the expansion... wait, this is what the old people call "patience" isn't it? Huh, it feels... rather light and fluffy...

But... but aren't people doing that and selling the keys on ebay?!
Then again, I would like pet news from the beta, without any work myself... new pet info, money...
