Battle of The Imortals Stealing From Wow?

Perfect World has a new mmo coming out and while I've noticed some of their models have animations remarkably similar to blizzard's in the past I didn't think much of it. Then I saw this. Well I guess imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

seems they took the colors of a hippogriph skin thats in wow and slapped em on a slightly modified griffon
only thing i see different is the beak and armor but this is the closest to stealing as it can be

Look closely... that helmet on the Gryphon is the EXACT helmet on our Gryphons, only they added horns that go beneath the eyes, then doubled it up...

The idle model is the same as well. I saw if that's the only steal, leave it be. But if there are multiple, obvious steals, then I'm better Blizz knows/has been told about it. Us WoW fans are protective of our game?

Check out
this trailer and then tell me that doesn't look all very familiar!
It's so incredibly obvious that I wonder if I have to download it to play or if it even will use the WOW-files on my harddrive...

After watching that, I wonder why they don't call it World of Perfect or something.
So. Identical.

Whatever happened to originality? D: I would understand if they were... heavily influenced by WoW, but taking the models from the game seems over the top. I watched the trailer, as well, and I noticed that quite a bit of the foliage looks quite familiar, such as giant, glowing mushrooms (Zangarmarsh - but I couldn't quite tell if they were identical or just similar...), a glowing tree that looked exactly like the ones in Crystalsong, and a few floating platforms that reminded me of he ones floating about Northrend.
Isn't stealing models/recolouring and using models from a different game pretty much akin to... I don't know, art theft...? 3D modeling isn't like painting or anything, but someone still put many hours into creating it and designing it. Anyone who posts some kind of art form on DeviantArt or other online art galleries probably worries about this same thing. I sure would! And it's not like you can slap a watermark on the in-game models.

LOLWTF Oo
I'm seeing five different feather tones on that bloody Gryphon alone. It's like they didn't even TRY to hide the fact they probably pulled it directly off the WoW Model Viewer and slapped whatever feather colours that took their damned fancy. Blizz is probably going to take one look at that trailer and laugh their bloody heads off. Or just send the great whites they call their lawyers up these guys' front steps. Probably after they laugh themselves stupid though.
I've heard imitation is a sincere form (not the sincerest, just a sincere form) of flattery, but jeez...at least TRY to hide the fact those wings are just recoloured AION ones...or be a dear and add tailfeathers to it XD! I did play AION at one stage. Got old when you got to 50 and the endgame content wasn't half bad, but it was too short. Then again, my entire account was level 50's by the end of the second week after release...sooo, yeah. Wings never did feel right...they were just...missing something...

Hahahaha. That video... I saw Zangarmarsh, Aszhara, Netherstorm, Crystalsong Forest, Silvermoon City....
I have to say, a lot of the spell graphics reminded me of the Lord of the Rings PS2 game.

I used to play that game... *Hides*
I never noticed too much of it when I played, but then again, I didn't get far. The raptor mounts, I can vaguely remember, where very close to the raptors of old, but looking at these...
Looking at it now, not -that- similar.
But again, I didn't get far into that game. I missed most of the things that screamed "WoW!!!"

I find they're EXTREMELY similar. The stance, the skeletal structure is the exact same! The only difference, from what I see, is the superficial stuff.

Did some digging around and found this screen of a cat mount:
And another raptor mount... I agree that the model looks nearly identical, just the proportions have been played with. If you compare the legs, especially. They even have
very similar neck frills/skin.. >.>
EDIT: found something a bit more disturbing. Found this random screenshot...
Bring any other famous Blizzard characters to mind...???
Why does some random chick have Tyrael's wings? ;_;

If they're gunna make an MMO... why not at least make their own models? It isn't THAT hard if you get the right people...

I will stand up for them in one way, with this question.
What else are they going to do?
For some of these things, there isn't much else they could be doing. The raptor? It's a RAPTOR. You can't change it much. And, as my bro pointed out, the model itself is indeed different. Again, what else could they do, make it run on all fours and have tentacles?
The cat animation - what else could they do, have it do a little spin? A roar is perfectly respectable and makes sense. What would you do if you made a kitty mount? Probably make it lift its head in a roar.
Gryphon - Errrrr. Sorry, PW. Can't defend this one.
Ogre - See "gryphon".
Tauren-like-thing - I can speak in its defense. Everyone thinks up something like this. Anyway, it doesn't have hooves, and doesn't stand like tauren do. It's a little too similar, but when you think about an angry bull man, what else can you think of?
Tyrael's wings - Tyrael has pretty stereotypical wings, if you ask me. Of -course- someone's going to think up similar wings. Glowing, swirling, sparkling wings are not all that uncommon. EDIT- Now looking around the interwebs, I realize that I stand corrected. This surprises me quite a bit, because I never thought of those wings as really unique.. But I guess that's just me. *shrug*
*Hides*

I can completely understand being influenced by by WoW, that's understandable. However, if you're going to make armor for a Gryphon model... At least be creative of your own.
Also, wasn't there another small game that copied WoW UI almost exactly?

What you mean to say is, of course someone's going to be
inspired. There's no way they randomly "thought up" the same wings. I agree there has to be room to be similar, but having a raptor mount with the exact same body smacks of code copying if you ask me. If it were just one thing, I'd excuse it. It's just too much to be a coincidence.
And really... plenty of MMOs manage to be original.

Yeah, I agree that some of it is passable, and it's hard not to look at WoW when creating a new mmo. WoW is definitely one of (if not THE) most popular mmo franchise worldwide.
I disagree about the whole Tyrael's wings thing- I always thought they were a unique and creative design in that they don't look like any typical wings. More like glowy tentacle strand thingies.
