I was in a Dungeon the other day and a hunter had a pet I have never seen let alone seen tameable. Just wondering what you guys thought. At the time we were in a dungeon with a rushing tank and I didn't think of getting a Screenshot. The pet was a http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mo ... hound.html but it was blue (like the Skoll blue) instead of a reddish/orange. It was beautiful. When we asked him where he got it he said either Gun'Darak or Zul'Darak. Anyone know anything aboutht hese guys?

Everything I've seen says the blue ones can't be tamed, so I'd love to talk to the hunter you met. I don't suppose you remember his name?

i've just checked the dogs in VH - the tooltip still says that they are untamable..

maybe the wolf looked blue because of the shading in the dungeon, hmm, i feel really confused..

(ps: checked twice - tame beast doesn't work on them either, so the tooltip is correct)

Odd.... I would love a blue one though!

Probably the shading. I've noticed some really heavy color being slapped on in some of them.

I assume you made sure it was a hunter. But covering all bases, Could it have been a Warlock? I KNOW they can enslave the blue demon ones... Again, pretty sure you would have noticed the difference, but covering all bases can't hurt.

hey guys. Sorry it has taken me so long to answer. My next door neightbor died last sunday and I just found out about it a few days ago. Things have been...surreal...I grew up spending as much time at his house as his daughter did at mine.

As for all the questions to this post. Yes, I was sure he was a hunter. I can't really remember the name of the hunter or his server and yes I'm sure the dog was blue instead of orange. I had never seen anything like it and had wanted one myself..lol. He wasn't really willing to talk about where he got it except that it was something' Drak. It looked exactly like the mage hounds from Borean Tundra. I really ReALLY wish I had gotten a Screenshot

I've been hearing about these damned blue demon dogs for a long time. I asked zardoz at Armory Data Mining to take a look through his mined data for me, but nothing turned up. Mind you, he only has about 600,000 characters in his data ...

Hmm, that's interesting. o.O Definitely gonna go out and go through all the mobs with that skin later today.

I know of a way to clear this up- first what was the dungeon as there are very few dungeons I know of in northrend that would cause such an overcast of color like this. Yes I know I've had a white cow be pink, purple and blue but that's the thing- his main color was white. It wasn't orange-red like the ZD hounds.

Secondly, he did say something'drak, which possibly means ZD, which possibly means those hounds.

But I've never seen a dungeon do such a wierd cast on a mob before.

Well seems like he wasn't all that inclined to share the information to begin with, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he just said the first zone that came to his mind - also if you find a skin no one knows is tameable, would you forget where you got it? ;) I remember pretty much the exact spot I tamed each of my pets in, and none of them are particularly special.

I'm going to see if I could get Sonata to come with me to Violet Hold today - it's the only place that has those blue magehunters as beasts. Will also go through all the demon counterparts, maybe one of them was changed into a beast very recently and no one noticed?

Don't bother with VH, just got Rosa in there and nada. Not tameable, and tagged not tameable for beastlore.

Yes I took a few k damage for hunters everywhere.

I'll get on the hunt too, on Yas since she has flying skill and Sunscale would probably like a nice vacation in Sithilus for a time since everyone is letting him die in dungeons and raids :(

Ah, roger that. That leaves a couple of demons. *crosses fingers*

Might be a bit farfetched, but maybe a single spawn of a mob is bugged and spawns as a beast? :/ No idea how the game determines what spawns where, but might be worth a shot I suppose.

No I doubt it, that sort of bug I don't think would ever happen. It'd be like being able to tame a dragonkin cause it's labled beast. Even if it came up as beast it'd still be untameable because of the coding.

Anyways zoomed my ass all over northrend wherever the hounds could have possibly spawned and nothing on radar. Even went into Nexus- nothing. Demons.

So I am thinking it's either A: an extreme case of wonked ambience which idk how would be possible outside of maybe ICC? But even then I've never had my hound glow the same shocking ice cold blue as Skoll is- and those hounds are.

B: an unknown rarespawn that actually resides in ZD?

C: an unknown Rarespawn elsewhere?

D: Someone hacked their pet and broke the TOS by doing so to change the pet skin to something else.

E: We're getting trolled.

I'm pretty sure that you can't affect what other people see by changing your own files, so D wouldn't work.

Although it being a rare spawn feels like the most plausible option right now, I'm starting to fear E...

Actually no- I do have proof that this can happen. Was way back before Wrath and I was leveling a lowbie on another server, think it was Lykaios on Alonus or whatever the server was named. I was running out of org, before or after my great quest to go and get a snow leopard from dun.

I saw a tauren zooming into org on what could only be called a Fruit Salad in the form of a Kodo. Now all I have is word of mouth since the screenie is long since deleted unfortunately. And it was NOT a graphics glitch as other people were seeing it too.

And it wasn't a graphic glitch like now a days either, the parts looked like they were literally made up of fruit.
