It's a question I've had for a while. I didn't go through everything that was said and if the answer was already given, I'm sorry!

I've been trying to read about it, but never find any real answer.

I'm BM (and don't plan on changing, even if people go like "why bm?!" like we're lepers XD ). In arena atm I use KK - I like him for the buff (I play with my husband that is DK so my Loque'nahak doesn't offer and extra buff) and for the reduced healing. But I wonder if even without the buff, I should use a spirit beast?
Too bad that Core hounds' ability Ancient Hysteria (was it how it was called?) isn't usable in arena. But I guess it's fair that no one would use their Bloolust else we'd only group up with mages and shamans

Anyway! Like it's a must to get an exotic pet (feels like a waste if we don't...), and Ferocity I guess >.< that doesn't leave us much choices.

Any thoughts?!

There really is no 'best pet' and thats been said since Wrath. Take whatever you'd like. My guildie usually does it with a devilsaur.

If anything it depends on your group makeup, take whatever gives a helping hand buffwise that you won't already have in the group. If that isnt anything then bring what you want.

Devilsaur does sound like a smart choice, though I've always been fond of Silithids in PVP for insta-fort and their web.

Spirit beasts can also work, depending on your comp.

For BM you're almost always better off with a spirit beast. The heal is pretty awesome and can be a life saver if used properly. The devilsaurs debuff to healing actually does not factor in that much and it doesn't stack with WV so you're basically still just getting a 5% crit bonus.

havent played in awhile, but arent scorpions the best for dk/rogue/warrior/pallys? and then silithid/spider for everything else, SB being very situational if you are BM

Thats mostly for BGs, I've noticed. I've seen most BMs go in with SBs and Devilsaurs when it comes to Arenas.

I actually don't see scorpids much anymore, even in bgs. If people want a disarm, they tend to roll with a Bird of Prey, since they're not tenacity pets.

I'm with a DK, so horns of winter already buffs what a spirit beast would. The heal is pretty cool for sure, but I or my pet don't always think about using it

When I said KK I meant King Krush that's the one I use in arena. I tried few pets and I felt like a devilsaur (like most of you said) was the best choice with this set up (I like the give 5% crit to my DK, he's usually better than me at pvp ).

A silithid! That's interesting! I should try to go get one and try it in BG to see what it's worth. But since it's cunning, I feel like a ferocity is always the best bet

Cunning pets are competitive with ferocity pets. Silithids are basically spiders (still a very popular choice for all specs) with a fort buff - very worthy choice.

I don't do arenas, so I don't know what works best in these setups: high damage or debuffs. I know for me, in normal BGs, I like a crocolisk. Slowing the opponent down is a *lifesaver* for a hunter. Chimeras are good as well, and have higher damage, but I like the high uptime on the slow and heavy 'unkillability' better than the higher damage. The chimera's Exotic ability AOE is negligible in BG, I found.

Silithid would probably be my second choice. As mentioned, Fort buff + the extremely popular (and powerful) spider web? That's a very strong combination right there. Plus, good damage from the 'cunning' side of things.

If you're after high damage, then yeah. The Devilsaur is probably going to be a good bet. Extra crit will benefit the whole group. Maybe a ravager is worth consideration, since you both do fairly high physical damage, and he'll raise all physical damage on the target by 4%?

*Generally* speaking you want something with both utility and damage. So that usually rules out cats/wolves/devilsaurs etc since they're strictly damage. Ferocity, tenacity and cunning pets such as birds, spiders, shale spiders, silithids, monkies and crabs all make good choices, spirit beasts being situational as others said for the heals and the great damage buff. I personally LOVED PVP'ing with a shale spider, for the buff AND the web. It depends on your comp and play style, but most of the time a snare/stun/disarm is what you're gonna want to go for. Also, ferocity and cunning are VERY similar in terms of damage for PVP, so don't worry about picking a ferocity pet over a cunning pet. Cunning pets also have some great talents in their tree for PVP, so I tend to prefer them.

Just as a note: Shale Spiders are not cunning. They're Tenacity. As are crabs.

I know they are, for some reason I forgot to write down tenacity as well :c I'll edit that
