I just realized that the Tallstriders have been given the mount animations. Perhaps they wont have saddles? There's still a chance they will, but maybe not. They may have been under our noses the entire time. xD

I have also noticed that even out beloved tallstrider pets do not have their old run. I'm very sad about this. I adore their current run.

Hold on, what? Tallstriders got a new (well, the Hawkstrider) running animation?
In PTR, I assume, or live? Either way, if it stays I'ma be sad, I adore the current run.

It would be for the mounts not the pets I assume.

Yeah I hope this isn't permanent... Their current run is pretty much what made me fall in love with them.

Ogod I love Ostrich racing xD Went to an actual ostrich race once, and they had a net at the end to stop the ostriches from running off and one of them jumped it and ran half the track. Another did that spinny freakout thing they do, hehe.

Bleurgh, I hope that's just a temporary glitch and unintentional. I can't imagine why they'd want to replace the original animations, it's probably just some sort of carryover from the new mounts.

I noticed also that the old animation isnt in WMV. C'mon Blizz, put it back! D: Theses aren't some floofy hawkstriders!

I just had to see this for myself, so I logged onto the test realm. Oh my.. My poor strider runs like a chicken now.
I seriously hope they don't add this new 'run' animation to the live servers. That will make me a very sad hunter.

I hope they don't put it to the HUNTER PETS.
I don't mind if they keep it for the MOUNTS as it fits. Why would it not run like a Hawkstrider? they are related after all.

That's what we're talking about. The mount animation is fine for just the mounts, but currently it's also affecting the hunter pets.

Oh dear. That's bad. Have you ever targeted a hawkstrider mount? They have nearly identical portraits. The head is farther away and you can see more of the neck.
It looks like Tallstriders were "merged" with Hawkstriders...

Unfortunately the hawkstrider models have bits of armour/harness on them that are intrinsic to the model, so if you remove them they just have gaps. Hopefully one day the art team will have time to create a "no armour" hawkstrider... I've hassled Noah about it a few times, but it's not exactly something he can fix personally
