Spacecat!

Some people call them 'furry aliens' because of their huge eyes and ears. I love Devon Rexes and have been waiting FOREVER for one to turn up at a shelter (since I made a pledge to myself to always go to rescues/shelters and not breeders).
I just put in an adoption form for this little guy. HIs coat looks a little extra-nappy because when he was found, he had bad sunburn and was malnourished so a lot of it had fallen out (I've been reassured it's all grown back in now.)
DAT EAR.
*fusses about application*

Aww. He's so cute. And now he's getting a good home.
Also, I love your policy of pet adoptions. It's so kind. ;3;

Such a cute kittie! *melts in a puddle of cute*
I really love people who adopt pets from shelters. They really deserve a loving home. My fiance and I got both our cats from the local shelter and they have great personalities and lots of character, despite several people telling us not to get one from there because "they have issues" and "are crazy".

Honestly? I've had one pet from a breeder before and of ALL THE CATS I've had, he's the one with the most crazy by a longshot (I think he's kinda inbred.)
My grandparents have him now, but eeeeeesh. No, the SANE cats come from shelters, I think.

Yeah... I know some people are just weird.
My family always had cats from a local farmer, so "normal" European Short Hair-cats, no special breeds and most cats just came to us and decided to stay (like my parent's recent cat did, too). My grandma once adopted a cat from a shelter, and the poor thing must have had some really bad experiences (was before I was born) and didn't live long and during her short life she was very shy and agressive. So perhaps this cat is where the predjudices come from.
One of my cats was also very shy, but after months now, she finally comes to my fiance to get petted and combed. I really think she, too, must have had some very bad experiences before she was picked up from the shelter people, who found her ill with several cat diseases on the streets. She was only half a year old, the poor thing, but now with us, she really has a loving home and gets more confident every month (we have her a year now and she really made great progress).
This is a pic of her way to cuddle with us:
