Possible Visible Quivers for Hunters

Unread post by Magnakilro »

from the q&A:
http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/

"Regarding hunters; you are eliminating the use for melee weapons, are we still going to be able to equip it? Can we also get some mace love?"

"There are not any plans for that now, we are probably not going to let you equip melee. If it makes you feel better, the rogues wont be able to equip the orange legendary bow either. We do want to change hunters so you can see quivers and or ammo pouches, potentially customize them, etc."

Huh? Hunters won't be able to use melee weapons anymore? Not that I use them much anyway, but still.

Honestly, though, I've always preferred seeing my ranged weapon over my melee weapon as a hunter. It just makes more sense. And I really missed being able to see my quiver. :( So yeah, if I have to lose melee weapons to get those things, I will be happy. :D

I'm disappointed in the fact that I won't be able to keep my melee weapon on my back, after I went thought all that farming for Transmogging :(

I definitely welcome the change for ranged weapons, and especially if we will have them visible. I'm only slightly saddened about the melee weapons due to a few favourites I have and would have liked to use for transmog, but at the end of the day it's just a small regret and nothing I'm too upset over. The pros outweigh the cons for me.

Some of the ranged weapons look just as good as melee weapons, though. Well, at least in my opinion. If I could see my beloved Pierce's Pistol all the time on my hunter...../drool. Yeah, I'm totally for this idea. :D

Makes sense really, if you don't have a min range that you can shot at, then you have no need for a melee weapon.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

Grrr.....Well I don't know about you guys but I think it would be cool instead of having no melee weapons we had flintlock pistols for pointblank shots. It beats the hell out of laying in a ball crying cause your pets busy fighting something else and you get agged by an add

That'd be cool, too, a short-range ranged weapon. I think that would take a lot more work than they're maybe able to do, though. They have a lot on their plates with making an expansion, and while I think it would be a really neat idea, I think it's just easier for them to remove the min range (edit: if that is in fact what they're planning). :)

Wait... we won't be able to even equip melee weapons, not even for RP?

I heard about Hunters losing our melee weapons and that is gonna suck well for me atleast because I am using Agony and Torment for the 1k Haste Bonus Proc. So Hunters still have use for Melee Weapons but I dont think they should be removed for hunters. My opionin of course.

I'm still a little butthurt over losing the gun from BQL to a warrior back in Wrath, so this is a welcome change. Since hunters will no longer have to worry about minimum range, we shouldn't need melee weapons anyway.

I try to look on the bright side: I saved so many cool staves for transmog, but when MoP hits I can vendor them all and make a fat stack of gold. ;)

I wonder if since we are losing the melee weapons if our bows will be mounted on our backs when not in use...

I'm just wondering if all the stats we NOW have on our melée weapons will get transferred to our ranged weapon, or will they sort of "forget" we had stats in those melée slots and screw us over?

They changed one leatherworking pattern with the last big patch.. except, if you were wearing the old pattern, you didn't get automatically upgraded. Which meant weeks of farming to get the mats to make the "new" version of the exact same thing you were wearing.

My biggest fear with this change is that we end up with no "stat sticks", and the exact same ranged weapons, with no upgraded stats. In other words "hey, now you hunters can go out and find new better ranged weapons"... making us effectively useless until we've upgraded.

I really doubt that's going to happen, Sukurachi. After all, everyone else is losing their ranged weapons (relics where appropriate). It's not like this is a hunter-only change or something. Everyone will get their stats back on their main weapons, I have no doubt.

This is bigger than one upgraded leatherworking pattern.

Or they will just make the new content while keeping the stat loss in mind, but leave the old content intact, making it incomparably harder.
Sure, it's pessimistic, but it's better to prepared for the worst and be possibly positively surprised (or go "knew it all along") then be all jolly and get knocked down.

sadly, I misspoke... it wasn't "one" pattern"... it was an entire set.
that was hundreds of dragon scales, hundreds of leathers, and all the elemental whatever to go with it.
