Just 5 pets.

So... assuming Blizz is going to allow us to spec any pet in any tree, what are YOUR top 5 pets?... Once this happens, I don't see myself going back to the stablemaster much. I'm going to pick my 5 (likely 4 ferocity and 1 tenacity) and run with those almost all the time.

I'm thinking SB, cat, worm (assuming the AOE buffs work out), Trex, and a turtle. I want to fit a BoP in there, but the others will have more use still. Decisions, decisions.

I actually think I'll be doing the opposite. If we're able to choose our pet's type, I'll probably use more of my stables than ever before. I'll have an excuse to let a lot of my current Tenacity pets come out if I can spec them for Ferocity, and overall I'll be happy to see more of my pets. :D

ohh ohh joy i was wondering when someone would make this topic,

Ferocity warp stalker
Ferocity Boss silithid
Tenacity Devilsaur, like a bawss
Ferocity Hydra, if they added, ferocity croc if not
maybe save for any new pets that may be added in 4.3 or 5.0

The other thing that should be considered is that in the dev chat today they mentioned that many of the misc buffs might be going away, which means a lot of our pets might get new core abilities. If we get instead a lot more pets that can do the main buffs, that might also open up a lot more families to be viable. I'd totally bring a sporebat if it was +crit.

Lets seee…

Vallrok's is easy. He only ever uses three pets, anyway!

-Ferocity Spirit Beast (Skoll)
-Ferocity Cat (White tiger riding saber)
-Tenacity Ghost Hydra (…Ghost hydra.)

Rassaa… Actually, I think her stable will stay pretty much the same! >.< I'll probably change her Cunning pets to Ferocity though.

keep in mind they are more than likely going to revamp pet abilities yet again

in the recent Dev MoP Q&A they said they would like to clean up the buff/debuffs by removing the junky ones like +bleed dmg, 3% dmg, etc

but for my dwarf, Rhino, Bear, Boar, and ill be as happy as a cucumber

It depends on whether family abilities get more customization too. The only pets I can guarantee will see more action are my tenacity pets, Ursa (bear) and Perseus (scorpid) especially.

my troll should be easy, with buffs and talents standing as they are right now, i culled off a good number of her pets. Wolf would stay ferocity, teal warp stalker would remain tenacity, Loque would be tenacity, Arcturis would remain ferocity, Skoll would be cunning (make people go OooOOooooo and distract them long enough for any fellow allies fighting those distracted enemies a slight upper hand, least thats how i picture entering the field with him out ).

Chimera would be tenacity moreso so i can take him out and have fun with him, hes been in the stables for a while but i really do love him so hes definitely not gonna get culled. Fox will stay ferocity, Cat will stay ferocity, Carrion Bird will be tenacity so i can have more play time with him, he too has been left in the stables for ages but i love too much to cull <3

and... that covers all the pets Rinzaak owns lol theres 5 slots but id constantly rotate all my pets according to what i was planning to do cause i'll have so much more fun with em

I agree with Veph - pets that have been sitting in my stables or ones I haven't tamed because I don't need a million tenacity/cunning pets are probably going to benefit the most from this. I'd love to use my old buddy Torque once again, and if I can change him to ferocity he'll definitely be getting out of the stables more. :)

As for my five...

Lemmy will be staying ferocity.
Hiras will either be ferocity/cunning, because I like cunning pets. >:1
Memphis will probably stay cunning or possibly ferocity, although he'll probably meld to whatever I need in BGs.
Stella will stay tenacity, because she's my tankybear. <3
Ryan will prooobably be ferocity, because I already have a tank and I feel bad that I never use him. :(

In my stables, Torque will be ferocity as I've already mentioned, and so will Scuppers, my old Sewer Beast. Umbergore, my old worg, might get a switch up to tenacity because I've always seen him as a grizzled old protector anyway. :P

I'm interested to see how this changes PvP, come to think of it. I think it'll be a lot of fun to adapt to the talent tree changes depending on which combinations wind up as the most popular. A tenacity spider could be quite the irritant, considering how often they tend to die as cunning.

I'll def. be using more of my pets than I do now. A lot of em are tanks ATM so they don't get a lot of use. >.<

But if I were going to use only 5...
Krush
Ban'thalos
Lucas (green wind serpent)
And I'm gonna have to think more for the other two... Perhaps Teshi, my green jormungar and... Jadefang? Maybe my green Outland raptor, Orrin. X.x

Mine don't. :S I'm interested in ferocity spiders myself. ;)

Maybe people just hate Memphis then, poor guy. :P I think I'll be going ferocity with him as well regardless, but I do wonder if a tenacity spider would even be viable.

Probably a good portion of my cunning pets will become ferocity. Same with tenacity pets. My Ironite (warp stalker) will definitly go ferocity. I love warp stalkers and hate that most people seem to complain if I bring him in dungeons. My turtle will stay as my tenacity/ohshit tank.

Teigan's main pet Rune (crab) will be ferocity and when that happens, the other pets better get comfy in the stables. *huggles Rune*

Definitely viable! After all, crabs were popular before spiders were....same basic reasoning. :) You get a different set of cds, these more focused on survival. I was just thinking completely in dps mode. I'm actually really excited to have two different spiders now; I could roll with one of each spec and trade them out, depending on the situation. (Currently, they swap for fun or if they're getting focused.)

Yeah. It will be nice to

1) See cool new pet YAY (even though it's cunning and I never PVP but I kid myself "hey it would be cool to have that pet just in case I do PVP someday...")

2) Camp & tame pet

3) Actually USE new pet instead of leaving it dormant in my stables like poor Deth'Tilac. Deth + charge = awesome.

Snope's top 5:

-Kai, her cobra (Ferocity)
-Glowstick, her firefly (Tenacity) or Darko, her Warp Stalker (Tenacity)
-Cullen, her Ravager (Ferocity) or a Ferocity Worm if I go BM
-Loopin, her Wolf (Ferocity) or Loopin, her Hydra that she may or may not be able to get when MoP comes out. (Ferocity)
-Violette, her Drakeadon (Ferocity)

Something else I thought of for PVP... you are going to be able to mix things up and potentially throw off the opposition. Pets getting burned fast? Spec a cat tenacity with all the survival talents, and so on...

(also going to be harder to tell what nub pug hunters are doing....)

I really want to use my undead eagle too. Will be nice to make him ferocity.
