Top Baleroc BM Parses.

I've been interested in trying BM for raiding for awhile now, but recently I've noticed something out of the ordinary. Even though Greg Street said that BM dps is on par with Marksman, since a few weeks. I'm seeing a few BM hunters above 40K for Baleroc (10/10H/25/25H), all of them are using a Silithid even though they have a Priest in their group. Could anyone who knows what I'm talking about care to elaborate? I'm just very intrigued at what exactly they're doing to accomplish 40k as BM. But it's also make me wonder if there's more at play here, say maybe a glitch that has to do with the specific pet.

If it weren't for the priest, I'd say it was for the stam buff so they could eat the shard damage.
The extra benefit from heals does make BM hunters good candidates for handling the shards. My raid alternates between a druid/warlock team and one composed of a warrior and my bm hunter on shard duty. The warlock n I are the ones who suck up the majority of the damage when it's our turn.
I generally have my core hound out for Baleroc, though I'll bring another pet if we're missing a raid member's class buff any given night. I don't know what benefit a silithid would give other than the stam buff which a priest would cover.

I haven't done any raiding, but high dps as a BM hunter is definitely possible. As I said, it's not a raid, but one comment I received once in ZG during the Zanzil fight was "Holy crap, the hunter did 40k" and I don't even think I was in full valor gear at the time. It's all just about knowing your spec and all that jazz... if that makes sense... or is relevant... sorry, kind of on a huge caffeine rush right now. Person put a double shot of espresso in my small mocha...

Baleroc is a dead easy fight for ranged dps. Unless you're one of the people sucking up damage from the shards he throws down, you basically stand in one place and pew pew. The tanks and shard crews are really the only ones who take any damage. The fight centers more around the healers coordinating the buff they get to keep the tanks alive. That means hunters can keep up their optimum rotation and concentrate on squeezing out high dps.

My question was answered over on Elitist Jerks, basically it looks like the hunters on WoL are using the taming method that keeps certain pets their appearance buff. But on a mob that has a significant damage increase buff instead.

Yikes, I don't like that one bit. One of the reasons I gave up using EJ a long time ago... They don't care about anything but their 'leet deeps', and I'm not surprised that they'd be willing to risk every hunter's appearance tamed pet just for a small extra amount of damage...
*sigh* That's almost as bad as when I saw someone there naming their pets based on the buff, so they could 'organize' their stables. That's worse than not naming the pet at all IMO.

Which silithid is it? That one should be fixed. Plus, they could get in trouble for exploiting a bug....literally. :/

To my knowledge no one from EJ was using it, I simply asked my question there and someone said what he thought it might of been. Which looking deeper into it ended up being, seeing as 2 of the hunters have a multitude of the same pets in their stable.
The Silithid in question being Vem.
(Edited my previous post to be more precise about who is using the pet.)

Interesting. The bug trio has been know to have taming bugs before when they were immortal. Looks like they still have a few more tricks up their umm... carapace.
I'm guessing they are finding a way to keep the Vengeance buff on them. And since it only lasts 10 minutes, that's why they would have multiple silithids.
BTW, silithids seem to be bugged in the armory and won't show any talent points. Mine does the same.

looking at the H 10m, the top hunter (US-Illidan) did 37% of his overall dmg, that means his pet did 63% of his overall dmg. while the MM hunter in his raid did 86% of his overall dmg. definitely fishy.
H 25m, the top hunter (TW) did 33% of his overall dmg. and the 2nd ranked hunter (US-Illidan) did 37% of his overall dmg.

Me and a guildee went in to test this, and it appears Blizzard has wised up to the exploit. Princess Yauj and Lord are both now untamable. Not sure about vem, didn't try him.

How sad that a unique model's been rendered untameable due to an exploitation like that.

I hope other options might be added for people who wanted that skin so it's not completely retired.

This ^
Seriously?!?! Some people just make me sad, these exploiters are at the top of the list atm. I mean really? It's not like it is an impossible fight that you need to hax to progress past, no one needs to cheat to down these bosses. The HM version Of Bal is not even that tough once you get the hang of him.... Bah!
I just don't see the need apart from stroking a very small e-peen.

Like I said, EJ is nothing but what their name depicts. They care nothing for our community, and even their guides for class help is only so they can toot their own horn. I guarantee they knew the risk they were taking for the whole of the Hunter community, they just don't give a rat's ass.

It couldn't be just that neither of you were BM at the time, could it?
