Nah, 2012 is when the iPhone 5 comes out, and Serie has become so advanced on the iPhone that it literally destroys the planet. But then The Doctor saves us somehow. He went back in time to tell the Mayans so they could warn us, but we didn't take them seriously enough.

Sure, he's my favorite, though I love Matt too. I like Matt's TARDIS better though, very steam punk.
