Odaris' Pet List

*sigh* Side Note: Had this all typed up, took so long that I got logged out. Have to type it out again. *Cry*
Hello, my name is Odaris. I'm a Night Elf Hunter on the Stormrage realm. I've been playing WoW on and off since launch and my very first character was a hunter (not this guy) and was in love ever since. I always enjoyed the idea of having rare tames but would have a hard time letting go of any once I had them. I grabbed Arikara when it was available because of the puff of smoke that would appear when it was summoned, they've taken that away since then but I still have the tame for nostalgia. I also tamed Ironback when I wanted that turtle skin and it was the only mob with it. Also back then, with only 5 stable slots, I pretty much kept with the same pets once it was filled up and left it at that. Then when it was bumped up to 25 slots, I simply tamed some new families and skins that I liked, not really going for rares, just to try them out. Then I took a little break.
I came back recently and first thing me and my gf tend to do is get any and all new companion pets. So while doing the quests to get Withers, we stumbled upon one of the Cat Figurines. I began to pick it up and thought "Wait a minute, don't these spawn a rare Ghost Cat skin?" and before I had a chance to react, a cat did spawn, and my pet killed it >_< Then my gf helped me find another cat, after 30 or so figurines, and I got the tame. It was such fun I knew I wanted more rare tames. Here's what I've gotten so far:
Cunning Pets:
Kirix: Unnamed, don't even have the Furnace unlocked, hugged the edge to avoid the flames and after 5 tries using the Disengage/Deterrence method got it. (Also tamed Anthriss, but let it go, just wanted to do the challenge, but keeping Kirix because Green's my favorite colour)
Arikara: CrimsonBlaze, tamed back when it had a special summoning animation, this was hard as an alliance as it was a horde quest that spawned it. The special animation is gone, but I keep it around for nostalgia.
Aotona: Delphina, NPCscan went off while Taxiing into Sholazar for an egg from the Oracles. Loque went off too but couldn't find it again after taming Aotona.
Olm the Wise: Unnamed, would head to Felwood after checking Mt. Hyjal for rares and found Olm on the 4th search.
Ferocity Pets:
Black Spotted Cat: Starjammer, first pet I tamed.
Ghost Cat: Marley, already explained.
Sambas: Unnamed, another find while taxiing to the area. Hate that feeling that anyone can come by and grab it while you're waiting for the taxi to land.
Green Firefly: Serenity, wanted this skin once Wasps were available, no rare version.
Ashtail: Unnamed, found on first try.
Spirit of Atha: Ghidorah, tamed the night before they were 'fixed'.
Tenacity Pets:
Red Madexx: Unnamed, looking for green, but getting attached to the red, will have to compare the 2 before making a decision. Maybe the Blue one too. Just got 'Stood in the Fire' achieve while camping Madexx, about time!
Grey Turtle: Tipsy, although I did tame Ironback, I released it to make room for the Hydra, once we got more stable slots I tamed the regular mob with the skin to replace it. May try for Ironback again just for my personal mental health
Terrorpene: Tonka, found on first try.
Brown Bear: Grumbles, wanted a bear and this model, may try for Mongress or Old Vicejaw later on.
Exotic Pets:
Skoll: Unnamed, found while doing Argent Dailies. Really want Karoma, will let Skoll go if I find Karoma.
Ankha: Unnamed, got killed because I forgot the taming challenge, tried a 2nd time with no armor successfully.
Magria: Unnamed, Guildie told me it was up, summoned me and I remembered to strip down this time
(Just want 1 of the Spirit Beast cats and haven't decided yet between the 4)
Ban'thalos: Unnamed, took me a while to find the sweet spot on the tree but easy enough afterwards.
Ghostcrawler: Unnamed, 4 or 5 sweeps through Abyssal Depths and I found it.
Arcturis: Unnamed, latest tame, found while camping the spawn point and writing this up (The first time)
Black Devilsaur: Oberon, first exotic pet I tamed as soon as it was available
The Kurken: Unnamed, enjoy the softer model of Core Hound as opposed to the nastier ones.
Green Silithid: Unnamed, wanted a cunning exotic pet and didn't like chimaeras, also, green
Jadefang: Unnamed, had to find it 3 times before taming it, both my gf and I wanted the companion pet.
I've also tamed the Worgen when it was available but let it go once they fixed it to be a regular Worg model. I've found Skitterflame but killed it by bringing it's energy to zero, thought that was what you were supposed to do. Also found Deth'tilac and some randoms helped me bring him down, but they didn't stop helping when he was tameable and killed him.
As you can tell, I'm not great at naming them. My gf usually helps me out with them. At least nowadays it's not permanent and I can change it if I don't like it. I don't think my mind set is there yet and I'm used to a name being final. Well, that's my list, hope you enjoyed the read.
