Created a thread over in the official forums about hair dye
"I was thinking a while back that hair dye would be pretty cool. not just the way it is now in the barber shop, but more colors, such as blue, red, green, or purple just to name a few.
MoP seems a to be a logical time to add it because we are likely getting new models for the old races to allow for monk animations.
it would also open up RP possibilities for the playerbase, such as half-races, dragons, or just faction radicals who dyed their hair in a patriotic manner.what do you think?"

I don't believe we're getting new models of the older player races, if we were, it would have long ago been stated.

Yeah, we're not getting new models quite yet, that's a huge undertaking that they want to do, but I doubt feasible for MoP. They'll just be working with the existing skeletons to add new animations.
I think some more hair colours would definitely be fun to add though. Sometimes the DK hair has some great shades that I wish were available to the other classes.

I'd love new hair colors. And a brunette that isn't so red would be fabulous!

I posted over on the forum, but I for one would love some more color on the worgen!
My main toon is a worgen and her hair is always black. No other option but black-except a salt and pepper. This makes it very boring being a worgen in that I look like every other worgen out there! Can change the fur colors when we change skin colors, but even that is limited. I dont want something off the wall, but why can we not have white, brown, redbrown or blonde manes? Why can we not have a blonde or white fur color? Same could easily be said for Taurens.

Im agasint changing skin colours. As long as its natural than thats fine but if we have bright pink sparkle worgen running around, or green cows running around im not going to be happy
I dont mind different coloured hair. BUt really no sparkle skin for me please
Stuff like Auburn, Blonde, and really any other natural colour im fine with

i would love to see turens manes/braids change colors to match their fur color. So like, white mane/braid for white fur, red/brown for their reds and browns.. like, the hair already changes for grey and black but it stays brown for all the other colors. And maybe a more snowy white fur color, their white fur has a grey tinge to it that makes me think of an old greying man and woman, and on females it seems more noticeable then the males but it has a nasty blue tinge where theres shadow. I know that lots of shadows in art are made not with grey and black but 'night' colors like blues (taught that in art class during highschool) but its an icky grey-ish blue XP i wouldnt mind the white from that mixed with the white from the icy white DK fur. I would also like to see more HAIR styles not horn styles for tauren females >_>
theres so much potential for tauren and their fur and hair and their braids/manes/beards need not forever be trapped in a cycle of black, grey, and brown ><
i would love to see more hair styles for worgen that involved bangs, theres only two good ones for bangs and everything else is swept back or tied or whatever. Would also like to see more fur colors since they are based off wolves, the males have some great colors and they even get white fur! Females get weird colors like 'Ironjaw' (they look like the sentient humanoid version of that wolf) and black with blue highlights. no pure black, no pure brown, no dark grey, NO WHITE yet the males get white! Its just... they screwed up female worgen so much that im forever in a loop of using one specific face, specific hairstyle, and specific fur color because i cant find a happy place with any other color yet for the males, i can never fully decide what kind of fur and face i want cause theres so many i love
everything would be within reason obviously, they'll give the bright colors to the races that already have bright colors and for everyone else that is more toned down then they'll give us more shades of colors that they already have

I'd love to see more hair colors and designs especially for Worgen and Tauren it's like set with their fur and not very exuberant. Would enjoy more mix and match ideas in hair

They should've added new character models with the vanilla revamp of Cata. If they don't add it in MoP I'd be really disappointed with Blizz!

Huh, I thought that the potential adding of new character models for Pandaria was common knowledge by now.
Art Director Chris Robinson spoke on this just moments ago at the BlizzCon Open Q&A panel. It was in reply to an attendee who brought up that, in the art panel, it was explained that the pandaren model has 10 times the bone structures of the classic races, allowing for many more facial animations.
To paraphrase his statement -- which isn't too different from what I've said here on the forums before -- we absolutely plan on updating the existing models. As Chris mentioned, we want to make sure we preserve the look and feel of the original models players have come to know and love, while vastly improving their model and animation quality to be more in-line with the newer races.
We're not going to hide behind the statement that too many players will get mad if we tamper with their models, but it's a concern -- not a concern that's going to stop us from doing it, however. I want to stress as well that it's a massive undertaking to go back and do this. And to a lot of people it's something that won't be considered shiny new content. But not only do we hear the masses of players calling for this update, we really feel it's time to bring them up to par with newer models as well.
The game continues to age, but as we have no plans of slowing down on development any time in the near future, we want to keep updating and polishing it to stand the test of time (again, without sacrificing the look and feel which has brought players in over the years).
If I recall right, the pandas will have ten times the "bones" of the oldest models, making them much more fluid and expressive. In addition to that, the monk is planned to have all sorts of all-new, fluid animations, such as flying kicks, rolling, spinning kicks, and a drunken fighting stance. That appears to be why goblins and worgen are excluded from monk: they do not want to have to fully redo those models as well to add in all the new monk animations.
Edit: Should I make a thread on this? It's kind of important.

We know that they are planning to update the models eventually, but it's not something that's happening right away. As they said, it is a huge undertaking that will take time. They are not saying it will be MoP, they are just reassuring everyone that it's something they want to do. The amount of time and work that would go into it would subtract from other major content though, and at this stage in the expansion they won't have the hours to do that. It's the reason he mentioned that many people won't consider it shiny new content, because in all likelihood the updated character models will be something big that will be a main feature in exchange for some other type of big content.

I think making a thread about that would be very good because it is pretty important and more people will find out more about that if you do so

They aren't guaranteeing it will be ready for MoP's release, but given the information on monk animations, it is not unreasonable to anticipate that it may be ready for MoP.
Keep in mind that is another 5 level expansion, but unlike Cataclysm, there aren't another 60 levels that need development time and new art assets. That probably leaves more time for less pressing features such as pet battles or new character models.

More hair colors would be nice.
Along those lines, I would like to see an option for the tribal-style tatoos that you see on the Wildhammer dwarfs.

This really. I'd also love to see a few new hair colors for dwarves, too.

If player models are getting a revamp, it would be nice to expand offerings like that. Perhaps Wildhammer tattoos or brown skin if you want to play a Mag'har.

Well, I was under the (general) impression that certain hair colors were considered "representative" of certain races..

I havent seen hair colors that were specific to certain races, theres different tones like certain blues, greys, greens for death knights but nothing else... and night elf death knights (females) get hot pink hair yet all other classes of female night elves dont when its a color that is fitting for them when you think of the other colors they got to choose from, and tauren really do have a limited selection of fur color and their manes/braids are stuck in a awful rotation of either brown, grey, or black. Theres so much more they could give to the races, different hair tones cause some of the ones they got, specially blood elves i find, are really unappealing.
