BM Raiding Spec?

I have been informed by my guild leader that I can raid as BM IF I can pull decently enough damage. So is this the correct spec for pure damage output? Or does anyone know?

Well, I can honestly say you have way better armor than me and I can pull some nice 4k a shot + random 10k crits if I get lucky with aimed shot and I'm BM spec.

I'd be an aggro machine if I was MM, since I can pull some nice damage if I try and do my shot rotations right.

Your spec doesn't look too far off from mine, Nevar. Mine's 54/14/4...so I'm trying to figure out where your other talent point went. :D

Everything looks good to me - I certainly don't see anything that would make me think "WTF?"

Keep an eye on your passive armor pen...I think you're coming up on the cusp of where BM should start gemming for it, if you're inclined to do so.

Woohoo! Thats good, I realize my damage will be a bit under the limit simply because I'm using my New Loque as my pet..How I love him haha - Cant seem to find King Krush..only Devilsaur I really like lol

Yeah, you're short a point there. I'd put it in Improved Tracking, or toss it into Invigoration if you start running into mana troubles.

I guess I should ask for opinions on mine as well. I'm just trying out new stuff every once in a while but would be willing to try something else. I opted for some of the other MM talents to try to play off my current tier pieces and such. Is filling Frenzy to 5 points pointless? Would 3 suffice? Do Careful Aim and Improved Tracking make that much of a difference?

^My spec. My pet is also specced a little different. I think most hunters swap 1 or two points in their BM spec to suit their playstyle. As long as the core is the same, it should work :)

My bm spec on my main hunter's more for instance soloing, but suicune has about the best.

I theorycrafted my BM-spec myself. It's got some more of the utility that I like.

3 points in Frenzy is sufficient to guarantee a nearly 100% uptime on the proc, so the other two points are really unnecessary. Careful Aim might benefit you in that with your gear alone, you're right at the hit cap, and taking that talent, gaining 3% to hit with the points from it, would allow you to replace your blue trinket with the Agility version of the Darkmoon Card: Greatness, which is a much, much better trinket than its ilevel indicates it should be. That thing will last you a long, long time. So long as you have any type of hunter tracking up, Imp Tracking gives you free damage to anything you're shooting at. If I recall correctly, the return from imp stings and imp arcane shot aren't as good as you'd think they'd be for a beast master, but I can see your reasons for opting into them with the gear you're using.

Thanks Tahlian, but one thing - Careful Aim is 100% of intellect = RAP, Focused Aim is the hit one (and I was wondering if the intellect one was worth getting). Oh and believe me, I've been trying to get a different trinket but none will drop and I can't afford the Darkmoon Card just yet. Sure, I could get the trinket from Triumph Emblems, but I feel there are better ones out there (that and I need to save my emblems for an upgraded Windrunner's piece). But I will do some more tinkering and see what happens. :D

And this is why I shouldn't respond to threads at certain times...like after raiding or early in the morning. Whoops!

Yes...the INT -->AP talent is, at least for now, extremely valuable. As it stands, we literally get zilch from Intellect other than a few paltry points of mana. That talent helps to get a little more mileage out of the intellect they're forced to put on our gear till Cataclysm.

So I'm gonna ask a noob question hear; Nevar and Saturo, why did you both skip aimed shot? I'm still leveling (68) and I'm currently dumping points in mortal shots to get aimed shot. Is there something I don't konw?

Simply enough put - if you're a beast master, you can take Aimed Shot if you want to...but you will definitely be pulling a point out of something else to get it. And with the BM spec, that "something else" may wind up being more useful to you or cranking out more DPS than Aimed Shot would give you.

In other words: some BM hunters will take Aimed Shot, but it's not typically part of the "cookie cutter" raid spec.

I simply didn't have the points to take it myself...and it amuses me to hear our rogue grouse about having to put Wound Poison on his weapons for Saurfang when our Survival hunter isn't around...but I'm eevil like that.

Thanks for asking that Falconer, I was wondering that myself but just didn't ask. I'm going to respec again tonight and see if I notice a change. :)

Thanks to everyone for their help!

I currently went with the new and tested BM spec for the new patch. Seeing how it works out I'm not sure if it was reflected in my spec however just yet.

Nevar, your spec is exactly the same spec I came up with for highest BM dps using femaledwarf.com when I was helping my boyfriend, since he wanted to raid as BM. I would just say if you are raiding, switch the serpent sting glyph for kill shot and you are good to go. =)

Aye, I skipped aimed to delve into some manaregen instead.

Aimed isn't really that much of a DPS gain for BM.
