Just kind of feeling down about the dumb way that tallstriders run, and how I had to release my good old pink Fruitloop because I hate it so...

/cries into pillow

Blizz, please give us the cute flamingo run back!

Though I prefer the old run vastly to the new one, I'm not bothered to any extreme. They do stand a bit differently now, and hold their wings out more than they used to, but overall I barely notice. I don't hate the new run. I miss the old one, but I can live with this one. It's just a shame the animation had to affect all tallstriders instead of just the mounts alone.

It just looks like that tiny little head of theirs is towing their whole body. :( I am not into it.

i agree, though ive never been a fanatic about tallstriders, i did once in a while tame one for luls and the run is fine on hawkstriders cause they have a slimmer body and are covered in feathers but it looks like a naked chicken running for its life from the kfc guy (blame phixxor from youtube for my image of a dwark dressed like the guy who created kfc killing a chicken)

As a fan of tallstriders I don't find it that bad. Certainly not bad enough to get rid of a pet.

I quite like the new run. Sure the old run was goofy and just fit with the goofiness tallstriders just are, but the new run is more accurate to how some ratite birds (like cassowaries which tallstriders share a skin color with) run at full speed with the head pointed forward.

I have mixed feelings. While I think it fits a very swiftly moving tallstrider very well, it doesn't seem to match one moving at the normal running speed at all.

I love it! It's much more realistic and fitting for this type of bird.

I may have to tame one now...

The new animation is upsetingly ugly. For these that say its realistic go check youtube how looks running ostrich. The new animation is the running style of the small passerine birds with short necks and relatively long tails, the old one corestponds to the running style of ratite.

Not all ratites run the same.

Ostrich, head up.
Cassowary, head down.
Emu, mix of both.

You can argue which ratite a tallstrider would be most closely related to, but it can be a realistic run for a large flightless bird.

With the casque on the head and a skin color nearly identical to a cassowary, I relate tallstriders to cassowaries, but that's just my personal opinion.

Its true that cassowary run with head down, just escaped me because i never thought of them as typical ratite, too big body too short neck, quiet the oppossite of the tallstriders. Now I understand what bug me about the new animation, the tallstriders have small body and long neck with big head and they look unbalanced runing like that.
The picture of my head is of D. stirtoni http://www.dinocasts.com/prod_productDe ... ductId=284 3m tall, but as whole body practicaly is in front of the line of the legs, seems impossible to run with head down.

And forgot to mention that this switching between running and walking animation every 2 sec is horrible.

Wassa, I can't help but think that Tallstriders aren't based completely off of any bird. They look a lot like Cassowaries, ostriches and Emus, but their skins say little about that. After all, they have a skin that is based off of a Cassowary, but they also have one based off a flamingo, which is very much different. And then they have one based off the colors of an Emu.

They can't because its merged with a mount model now, I don't see this changing for very long at all.

I love the new run and hell, I went and GOT BACK my Tallstrider. That's saying a lot.

They may not be based off one bird alone but that said you can't say the run is not fitting of a bird like that nor unrealistic. But all in all when it comes down to it it's a made up bird so it can do what ever it wants too! I mean this is a word where you can get buffs from a cats roar!

Sorry, your dog just gets lock-jaw--great if you ever get a burglar, terrible for everyday use. :P
Unless you have a wolf-dog, then you get 5% crit; that's a 5% chance to crit and get chores/homework/whatever done faster!

Who needs a wolf-dog to motivate you to do chores and homework when you could have king krush stuffed into your room

anywho.. im contemplating lvling a tauren hunter just so i can tame a local plainstrider to see how they transition at normal run speed.. but i really like playing my druid... it may be a long time before i actually do level a hunter past 10 since im trying to get Season 10 Vicious for transmog before it goes away.. my chars only lvl 44
