was wondering if the Spirit of Sathrah - that spawns near the fountain after you complete the quest for her living counterpart - Lady Sathrah is tamable? the spirit appears friendly to allience but what if horde hunters could tame it?? this probably requires being of a high level to avoid being killed by the guards^_^

what you think?


i'll try to investigate this evening, but the question is how to spawn the mob..i feel so lazy to level another character to lvl12^_^

Ah, I think it's probably untamable, just because Blizz made it way before spirit beasts became available. Still sounds fun to poke around, hehe.

Well if anyone on an EU server has a lvl 80 horde hunter, I can level up a lowbie fast on their server to do the quest. As I recall, the mob spawns right as you hand in the quest, could be wrong though. If the tamer fails to tame it (not because it isn't tamable) I don't mind leveling more alts till you get it done

but if we do so we'd rather find a faster way to communicate, since i'm not sure how many guards spawn in the room. i was there once for For the Horde achievement, but there were so many of us, that remembering the amount of guards is rather hard;)

Ok, so I got a guildy to bring one of his characters to do the quest and then I used Beast Lore on the Spirit of Sathrah, and it said it cannot be tamed.

Right but the mob is friendly to the allience..
or the tooltip states tamable/untamable regardless of faction?

It should say tameable regardless of faction.

I'm pretty sure the Spirit of Sathrah isn't classified as anything, having done the quest countless of times. :( So she's not a beast, thus she can't even be targeted with Beast Lore.

She can be targeted by beast lore, I've done so myself, but it it says cannot be tamed at the bottom of the description. However, I don't recall her appearing on my map after using track beasts.

And yes, it will say tamable/not tamable regardless of faction.


EDIT: As you see, Beast Lore works on it, and it appeared on my mini map as a friendly target (like DK ghouls,) but I think that was only after I used Beast Lore on it. And it seems to have no classification even though Beast Lore can be used on it, seems like a bug the no one knew of or Blizzard didn't care about.


Think there is a chance it can also be bugged and be tamable regardless of the message? Kinda like how Magmadar is shown to be tamable but cant be tamed because he's a boss level (or like how The Beast is tamable even if he is boss level.)

but does anyone remember a case when a beast classifies as untamable was actually tamable??

Nope

However, this isn;t even classified in the first place, other beasts, including druids show their classification as beasts (I think it updates to humanoid or elemental if turn to boomkin/normal/tree) show as cannot be tamed. One can hope.

And I also don't recall any other creature that doesn't have a classification that can be beast lored.

well alot of guards came and nuked me;)

but i'm checking if there's an aggro free spot near the place where the spider spawns

PS: i've found a safe spot that doesn't aggro guards but i die getting there=(

Thought that will happen, try getting some friends later to kill the guards etc?

well, i'll help you with the quest and do it;) i'd rather solo it cause friends are llikely to aoe the guards together with the poor spider;)

Ghaaa Congafury didn't see it, I will now check back on my server on an alt of mine if the mob is friendly or not to hordes before creating another lvl 1

now i know what was wrong - i did this quest on a private server and the mob spawned at the wall there..and here it must have spawned in the fountain;p

Hmm, lemme check, my mage might not have done the quest yet - assuming it's not nelf only.
