Can you still get the Oil-stained wolf in 4.3

I've been trying all night on my friend's ally toon to get it for her using the poop quest. But I have to say, either I have the worst luck ever or you can't get them using the quest. Can anyone try this out and see if the quest still works? Thanks

It does. I did it on Lisaara after 4.3's release. It's just serious timing and dont use the trap. The trap was only needed when we had the 20 second tame.

So what's the steps to getting one?
I tried for over two hours to get one and it never worked. Old original way not the death way. I didn't use traps.

I used the quest item way for 2 days and got nothing, got a friend to kill one at the end of my tame, took like 5min. I think the quest way is shot.

That's 4.2 dude, it says it at the top. This is about getting one after 4.3.

I am fairly sure you can....what I did for my 4.3 tame was:
Have friend feed wolf
tame
and when it despawned, you would tame. It took about...20 tries till I got mine. Gotta get the taming right.

We are talking about the
quest for the oily wolf still being viable to tame it with the appearance buff after 4.3, not if you still can get the appearance buff after 4.3, next time I will make myself clearer, although I did state in my post before that one that I did get an oily wolf with appearance buff using the death method.
