Hey Everyone!
We haven't had a contest in a while so I thought it might be time for one With cataclsym winding down it's really fun to speculate what we'll be seeing in the Mysts of Pandaria. The only thing as exciting as the new pets we'll get to have is the ones we get to ride. So here is how it works for this contest: Design your own mount based on the new expansion. It seems to have a bit of an asian/panda/drinking flair. Now not everyone can draw and not everyone is good at creative writing so you can do either! State what your mount would be and how it would be atainable in game in a short paragraph or break out your artists tools and put up a rendering of your very own mount, flying, ground, swimming, or otherwise.

The prize: The winner will recieve the code for the loot card Tiny in a pm. Tiny depending on your race will either give you a bunch of white raptors no longer atainable in game or white stallions. These are consumable so they don't last forever,but are quite fun nonetheless and great for alts.

We'll give it a few weeks for entries and then since judging is kinda hard I'll need some Petopia power behind me! So when the time comes I'll ask for a vote! Everyone can vote once,but you cannot vote for yourself.

Here is an example I made; My mount would be a hot air balloon that looks like a chinese lantern obtainable in game through a quest. It's wieghed down by barrels of pandaren brews. The balloon would take you from the panda island or pandaland to either Stormwind or Orgrimar based on the faction you chose and be either red or blue. You keep it after the quest to remember your epic ride.

Ohh this sounds fun! I've always had so many mount ideas, but now I can't think of any! haha

I haven't seen a whole lot of interest thus far so I think if anyone wants to do more than one that's fine. I would limit it though to two entries per person.

Personally I am still trying to think of something. but i wont have time before weekend to start drawing at all :S

I have an idea but I don't have time atm I've got to teach myself Harmony XD I'll try in the weekend so in a a days time. Cos it's friday tomorrow haha!

1 question. My idea is for one type of beast but it comes in like a few differnt body shapes if I was to draw them would they count as 1 mount (as they all would share whats ontop IE gear) or would they count as more than one (as in counting the body shapes)? Just wondering before I set pen to paper.

I think if it keeps the same general body type and is a recolor or just different armor then it would count as one,but if there is significant differences then it would be more than one though its up to you if you want to split it up in to two or make it a group of multiple types of a single mount.

I've almost finished the design, though I'm wondering if it's okay to do more then one paragraph? Because due to having nothing to do while camping a rare, I've gone quite overboard with the 'short paragraph' and also added in quite a few images.

lol well I guess there's no harm in it the contest is mostly for fun so the rules are not really concrete if anyone has something they really want to do.

Mount: [Reins of the Azure Wind Serpent].



Mount Effects:
• The Wind Serpent follows a similar flight movement to that of the Dragonhawks.

• The Wind serpent does not have a ground animation as it has no leg limbs. Just as the Dragonhawks, it will hover slightly above ground level.

• The mount adjusts to your current flight speed, and also increases your movement speed in water by 60%. (The same swim speed as the [Sea Turtle] and [Reins of Poseidus].



How it is obtained:
Tsu’Shian, Serpent of the Winds (Pronounced Soo- Shy-Ann)
Tsu’Shian is a rare level 90 elite Wind Serpent that spawns along the coast of Valley of the Four Winds (a new area introduced in the Mists of Pandaria expansion.) He drops the epic mount [Reins of the Azure Wind Serpent].
He has 5 different spawn locations, once spawned he will begin to path up and down along the coast a few meters above sea level until discovered. Engaging Tsu’Shian is somewhat similar to Aeonaxx; he shows neutral and has an arrow icon allowing you to mount him. Once mounted he will desperately try to drown you by diving into the ocean. Tsu’Shian does not spawn adds during the encounter, nor can he deal any damage to you. However he continuously swims deeper into the ocean eventually causing [Pressure]. This ability is caused by the weight of the water above you. It causes a debuff that deals 10% of your maximum health every 30 seconds. The debuff also prevents any healing, health or mana regeneration.
Tsu’Shian also uses a second ability called [Air Bubble]. This spawns untargettable medium sized bubbles that you can right-click to replenish your Breath Bar.
If you die during the fight, Tsu’Shian’s health will reset and he will return to the surface.

Tsu'Shian concept:



Facts about the encounter:
• This will most likely be a DPS race encounter. You will need to kill him before you become overwhelmed by [Pressure].

• It is highly unlikely that you will be able to defeat him if you are not max level.

• Tsu’Shian requires you to be very prepared.

• Items that allow water breathing may or may not help.

• Tsu’Shian has quite a lot of health; the encounter should take 3-4 minutes on average.


• [Pressure] is applied 30 seconds after combat begins, it continues to cause damage
every 30 seconds. The damage is percent based and will kill you when it hits the 10th stack; and thus you have 5 minutes maximum to kill him.

• Tsu’Shian casts his first [Air Bubble] 1 minute into the fight, he will cast a fresh one once every minute. You will see up to 4 bubbles in the full duration of the encounter. They are medium sized and cannot be targeted, you can however right-click them to replenish your
Breath Bar.

• Once Tsu’Shian dies you will be dismounted from him and your [Pressure] debuff will be lost. You will then be able to loot his corpse and retrieve your very own Azure Wind Serpent mount.
• A small whirlpool will also spawn beside Tsu’Shian’s corpse, supplying you with air to assure you do not die before looting him. The whirlpool also acts as a portal which teleports you directly upward to the ocean’s surface.

How other colours/skins may be obtained:
• Rare drop from the new raid instance.
• Rare drop from one of the newly introduced dungeons.
• Possible reward for a dungeon/or raid achievement.

I was working on my other picture (nelth/sinestra) only to find out I wasn't to happy with it so I had to trash it >_>
