I... I'm ashamed of myself right now.

So here I am, doing circuits in Sholozar for either Aotona or Loque, neither really hard tames so I was just casually doing my runs.
Then all of a sudden, I see a great green behemoth lumbering across my screen. There was King Krush... ripe for the taming!
But... I had absolutely no haste gear... no haste pots... and no haste food on me. The only thing I had was my trusty hyper speed accelerators. I figure... eh might as well try it and get lucky right?
So I tame a temp Shango and send him in and hit BW then my Accelerators then tame... The tame goes good until about 1 second left in the tame then bam! fear and then que my death.
I then instinctively run back to my corpse to try two...
then try three.
Each with the same end result. So I get back to my corpse time number four and I see a horde shaman flying towards Krush... I then panic... I knew he would kill Krush (since he IS a bright green sign saying "ohaiI'marare", before my priest buddy could come help with his almighty fear ward. So I did the only thing I could at that point.
I pulled my hydra out of the stable quick and killed.... Krush.
Thats the (3rd) time I've killed Krush, the first two times was me being completely clueless athow elusive and majestic of a tame he was... but this time...
Please... Please tell me that me killing Krush was the right thing to do in that situation.
PS: If anyone here is on Sentinels-US and wanted to tame him, I am sorry, and the time of the kill was roughly 10:05 Server time.

Well you could've asked, if someone else wanted him, that could have made you feel a bit better if noone did.
I was in familiar situation once, but it all ended up with a DK of my own faction comming, killing him and putting me on ignore after my protests.

You do the best you can in stressful situations. I'm sorry that you weren't able to tame Krush, though.

I can sympathize, if only because I did the exact same thing, except I think I tried taming him closer to five or six times before killing him in frustration (and for the achievement). It's hard, y'know?

Don't kill me when I say this. I know you're stressed. As a hunter, I would do the SAME. EXACT. THING.
However, as a druid (my other main) and frankly, WoW person in general, I ask:
You found it first, yeah. You died multiple times trying to tame it. Why did you deserve to kill it anymore than the shammy did? You saw him going for it, you had had multiple chances. Now, someone else wanted in. I mean, Time Lost Proto Drake, if you were trying to kill it, and you died trying, and someone else got it, would you be mad? Yes. You'd be upset. But you wouldn't be all, "GRAWR! YOU STOLE MY KILL! /HATE* Because you had your chance, you died. Heck, even with a quest mob the logic can be applied.
Now. As a hunter: My condolences. I would've done the same thing, and then I'd mourn the pet.

*Gasp* I am on Sentinels! You killed my Krush! *Coughs* Kidding. Don't sweat it, these things happen.
Side note, my 'main' hunter is actually on Scarlets. *Laughs*

At the risk of looking like the bad guy here, I'm going to say no. You mention that you've already killed Krush two or three times, and so killing him just because someone else might have a shot at him just seems spiteful to me. It doesn't accomplish your goal of trying to tame him, and it doesn't let someone else who might have been wanting/needing the achievement have a go. Nobody wins in this scenario.

Sorry but saying this kinda sorta supports the bad behavior Hunter's recieve. I mean, there are cases where people killing Krush have stopped when they notice Hunters, of either faction all D: face'd on the sidelines, unable to do anything. Mean there was a war who even died trying to get away from Krush to give a hunter a chance. He didn't have to, he didn't even need to do so, but he did.
Now, killing Krush out of spite basically, to keep him from being killed by anyone else is somewhat low, and I'd not do it to anyone. I mean yes it hurt when I saw people kill Krush before, but they didn't have to even allow me the chance to tame him like they did, they could have been like others. Killed him while I was corpse running and left me with nothing. But they waited- the shammy may have waited.
Then there's also the fact that if he NEEDED the achievement, he will STILL need it, so you've only set yourself up for grief in the future, if he really did need to kill Krush for the achieve and not for 'phat loot and gold'.
All this does is really spread the hurt around.

I do agree with Ryai, but I understand that in that very moment you panicked and did what seemed logical at the time. You didn't feel that you had five minutes to sit and contemplate your place in the universe, so out of frustration you killed him for yourself. I understand this. I also agree with Ryai that in that scenario, the best thing to do would have been to let the shaman have a kill for the achievement (assuming he didn't have it already). Or, maybe you could have /begged and /pleaded like I did with a paladin of the opposite faction who, out of the sheer kindness of his heart, actually heeded my cries and flew away until help arrived!!! You don't know that he'd have just ruthlessly slaughtered your prize, if you had asked (though most do, I know, happened to me when I wanted to tame him).
However, all that having been said, it does appear that you feel bad for what happened and I don't think there's any need to pour salt in your wounds. As a hunter, I am very sympathetic towards you for losing Krush, and I wish you luck in the future.

I would do teh same in your position, especially if a member of the Alliance was going for it. Sucks be to them, it may sound selfish, but if you snooze you loose.

Hard call, but I think your heart was in the right place (better he's killed by someone who loves him than a money grubbing something or other, I guess) and it sounds like you didn't have time to look for someone to tame him.

...and on a more practical note, if that someone else
is attempting to go for that achievement, you've just guaranteed they'll still be looking to kill a rare next time they see one, thereby decreasing your odds of taming any particular rare you might be hoping to tame. Beyond nobody wins, you're shooting your own toes off here. Better to let them get their achievement out of the way so they won't still be hunting down rares tomorrow.
