I'm curious to see if anyone is going to go out and re-tame old pets that they used to have when Cata is out.
For example I'm going to go out and tame

McFoul: You know...the one really close to the path in mulgore. he was my first pet after I completed my training quest.

KFC: My brother told me to re-tame him.

Jormungar: I surprisingly really miss him.

Im going to go and Tame a Wolf and a Cat too just so i have the option to use them in a raid and hopefully a Zhevra (fingers crossed they become tameable)


So how about the rest of you?

Well I retamed one of the blue raptors from wailing caverns, I had one in my lower levels I loved to peices. Re-taming him was never the same, the connections never came back.
Snarler is another, the black wolf he was one I couldn't wait to get as a lowbie. I got him had him to level 60, ditched him and I keep retaming him, but I never have that connection anymore.
Same thing goes for Acturis, red outland wind serphants, and green outland raptors.

I will have a warp stalker, a silithid, and a bird of prey back in my stables for sure. After that, we'll see what new families there are.

I'll be getting Fish back!

Fish is a Scarlet Tracking hound that Dara fell in love with long ago, but for this and that and this other reasons (and partly because part of his charm was lost with the great hyena restructuring) he isn't in her current lineup. IC-ly he's still living at home as a noncombatant-type pet, but it'll be great to be able to have him in the lineup again :3

I'm going on an Outlands-themed taming spree! Since my hunter's a draenei, and I'm on an RP server, I've tried to keep her to pets that would match her heritage... but shiny spirit beasts and other rares keep distracting me. >> Right now she's only got a warp stalker, but she'll be getting a ravager, chimera, moth, Azuremyst tiger, Ironjaw, Nuramoc, a Netherstorm windserpent, Blade's-Edge black raptor, black owl from Nagrand, two-headed carrion bird, Kurken, white crocolisk, crow, nether ray, sporebat, spider, purple tallstrider, and Zangarmarsh wasp. @_@ That's a lot of pets! So I'll try to keep her to unique-skinned rares and Outlands pets... Let's see how long that holds up.

And I can get Gondria back! Hooray!

Most of Gryselde's won't be retames. Just the scorpion, turtle and raptor. And for Teigan, a spirit beast would be a first.

Gads, there's a lot of pets I'd like to retame. Obviously it all depends on how many new stable slots we end up getting, I know I probably won't be able to get all of these, but in no particular order:

- My black piggy is most definitely coming back to me once I have the space again.

- Likewise I want a crocolisk on Veph...crocs are my favourite real life animals, and I'm even hoping we might get some more skins next expansion! *crosses fingers*

- I'd love to retame my old Ravager since he was just an awesome pet all around.

- I like the Rhinos for their size and personality. Even though they're useless now, if I have the spare room I'd get this guy back. :3

- I couldn't justify keeping either of these wicked looking pets before, but depending on how many new slots we get I'll certainly go get one again.

- An assured retame, one of these days I'll have you permanently Gondria!

- Once Cataclysm comes around I'll pick up Kevin from his extended vacation in Sholazar (where I dropped him off). I picture him lounging beside River's Heart somewhere in a hammock with shades on and a fruit cocktail.

- If I can I also want to get a Jormungar back. Absolutely love these worms.

- I am fervently praying that they make this skin retameable somehow. I want a Warpstalker, but this is the only colour I'd settle for.

- Love this giant blue Wasp, and I'd be glad to have him once more.

- A 'maybe' pet. When I was doing rounds for Loque I saw this beauty all the time and became pretty fond of her.

- My favourite wolf skin, if I have room I'd get him again.

- Wouldn't mind having this jittery bug once more. ^^

- Always wanted to try out a Nether Ray.

- One of those pets I sort of wanted to try but never had space for.


Then I have to think of all the shiny brand new pets we'll be getting! @___@

Oh boy, I'm in trouble...

Oh goodness, where to begin.....

Rhytil will definitely be making his return. He is my favorite bird in the game. I love the two heads, I love his eyes, and his color, everything about him. Of all the pets I regret releasing, he's the one I regret the most. But I thought I wouldn't miss him much and that I could just go get him later. Now that I have five slots filled with pets I simply will not release, he'll have to wait a little longer.


I might have to go get Okkoto back. I love boars, and he was the first pet I got after I transferred from Lightbringer/husband's account to Ysera/my account. I had to release him back when we didn't have five stable slots because there were other pets I wanted more (such as Rhytil).


Next up is Surge. He's just a really awesome pet but again, I had to release him to tame other pets (whom I probably don't have anymore). I don't see myself using him much even in Cataclysm, unless they truly do re-do the pet abilities. Venom Web is neat but it didn't work much for my playstyle. It's unfortunate, because I really did like him a lot.


Ah, then Dante (who might undergo a re-name...maybe, we'll see). I liked him, but didn't love him. I released him to pick up...Shikon I think. To me the tradeoff was well worth it, as I simply adore Shikon. But I did still like Dante and it did pain me a little to let him go. He's one I wouldn't mind camping for again.


Blaze is yet another that I'll have to get again. I LOVE wind serpents, they're just so awesome! But, I released him to pick up my now-released Twinblade the chimaera. Blaze was named after my baby snakey IRL, so he was especially cool. I love the solid, deep-red color of this particular wind serpent and hopefully, they won't be gone in Cataclysm. I worry about Azzere but this particular one was from Sunken Temple.


Some other possibilities include:
Deathclutch was my first devilsaur, a sort of placeholder until I could get Apollyon, who ended up growing on me more than I expected. When I was in Un'Goro for the Noblegarden achievement, I saw one of these bad boys and just stopped to watch him for a while. They're so beautiful. Apollyon is my favorite of all of them but if we get enough stable slots, Deathclutch may make his return.


Moro (Mist Howler) has been my favorite wolf so far. Even though I like the black skin more aesthetically, I had Moro with me for a long time on a previous hunter of mine, from about level 22 or so up until past 40, when she got deleted. I do like the wolves in-game but I just refuse to have one in their current state right now. I do worry about Mist Howler, with Ashenvale's upcoming changes, but at least there are plenty of other gray wolves if Mist Howler goes the way of the dodo.


This red warpstalker is totally and utterly bad! If they ever bring these bad boys back (they were removed in 2.1), I'd probably be all over it. Besides Gezzarak (spelled right?), it's the only warp stalker I like, but I think I like this red one a little more than Gezzy.

I don't think I would re-tame any past pets of mine. My main pet was been my Desolace Hyena since the beginning and my Warpstalker only came along after BC. I've tamed and abandoned lots of 'side pets' since then, but they don't mean as much to me as those two.

Ximbol went BM and has mostly Exotics. She sorely misses these guys and can't wait to get them back

I only have one slot technically & it's either wolf or kitty, currently have Shy'Rotam; but I am concerned that the Diseased Wolves or the Prairie Wolf will be extinct come Cata. so I may swap to one of those... ok going for diseased wolf, again.

I really wish that hunters got a template of Extinct Species before Cata comes out so we know what ones will really be gone.

Baby Kalli's Hippomenes is #1 on the list. He never really clicked with her in terms of name; he was destined to be with Kalliope and ghost saber companion Atalanta.



The original Cerberus is a distinct possibility. I miss my big lovable puppy, though I'm still fond of my dear little hellhound version.



The most beloved previous incarnation of Orpheus is also high on the list. This was his first form that really felt right. It killed me to have him morph into a spider. I would pick up Arachne again as a spider instead, but Orpheus likes his fuzzy spider form too. He and Cerberus are my only "morphing" pets; I must indulge them.

There are a number of other skin/pet retames I'd consider, but they'd likely be getting different names and personalities.

I am most definitely getting a tallstrider. I just haven't decided which color. The name will factor in heavily.

Ah, I've had so many pets I don't even think I can remember all of them... But Kinda hoping there will be enough room for one of every kind of pet family, even though that might just be wishful thinking.

Zarakh for sure... I miss my IttsyBittsy
