So do you think RFK will be ok? Those pigs in there are awesome looking think we will be able to tame those still?

Your guess is as good as any of ours. We have no idea what pets, if any, will be retired or may disappear in Cataclysm. Maybe they will, maybe they won't...all we can do is wait and see for ourselves.

I really don't know what to make of Blizz's continued silence on the topic of pet extinction. It's a question on a lot of hunter's minds...surely they are aware of this? I wish they'd throw us a bone here! Even the hunter preview wasn't helpful in this regard.

Is there some reason to think any will go extinct? I have a hard time imagining that they will completely retire any existing skins. Specific creatures, maybe, but not every last one that uses a particular skin. Certainly not one of the more unique skins they've put more work into (e.g. the armored pigs or wolves or such).

I'm of the same mindset as you, Euryleia.
I can see certain skins being shifted around perhaps, or relocated, but I really just can't believe Blizzard would permanently make an entire appearance retired. It's so easy to keep even just one creature somewhere in the world with a particular model.
Still, when the beta begins I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to hear exactly what's changed and who (if any) may disappear.

And I hope that is true. Maybe that's why they haven't said anything, because me and the others who are worried are worried over nothing. But
It's so easy to keep even just one creature somewhere in the world with a particular model.
If, for example, Humar goes and the only black lion is Pitch, I would for one, be sad. Pitch is not Humar, even if they look like twins. I doubt Humar will actually go, since the Barrens savannah habitat will still exist, albeit altered, but just as an example. I have Humar on my Tauren and am keeping him, as a memento of the Barrens I knew and loved. Same goes for the ghostsaber and Strider Clutchmother, for Darkshore.
On the upside, I hear Mankrik will finally go and bury his wife! lol
