I was wondering if this npc http://www.wowhead.com/npc=40650 can be "buff tamed" to keep the rider. Can someone get a friend and try this?

if the rider is a seperate npc (been forever since ive done it, i forget completely) then its impossible. I know that the purple/blue raptors could be tamed with the undead troll riders on their backs but the troll would attack, being seperate from the raptor. Same for the grizzly bear and the cub in darkshore, the cub would follow the grizzly around but it wouldnt last

In the comments of the link you posted, someone said they are tameable but lose the rider.

in a normal tame anything odd and abnormal dissapears but theres the revive-spam tame that cheats the system that may or may not work (i dont think it works on -everything- depending on if blizz has had their way with it or not)

I've tried this before, and couldn't get it to work. I'll have a go again, though. Iirc the rider disappears on death anyway, so I don't think it's possible, but it can't hurt to try.

If I remember right, you can trap & stay in range of one of them for most of its route, rather than edging to the lava & waiting for it to get close--it's directly across from the entrance, slightly lower down.

Edit: when the birds are tamed NORMALLY, the riders die. I've tried timing the bird's death with the tame end, but the low rate of respawn on the two that can be trapped... it's extremely frustrating. Good luck to anyone else who tries it
