Kealthas solo mount farming question

Ok ill just post a new topic since I dint want to hijack someones mount run topic :)

I have been trying to solo Keal this weekend and I ran in to some troubles mainly P4 and P5.
I already found out why my pet ended up dead in the P5. But after i found out why I have troubles getting there again.

So atm the only problem is P4 (MC phase)

I noticed if your pet doesn't die during the MC the fight will just go on (blew a cower and shield on my turtle before I accidentally got mc'd). Do you guys know if this was a one time glitch or that it is "working as intended".

If it does work as intended wouldn't equipping 2 pieces of t5 make this phase a complete joke?
Sure I would lose lose a portion of my damage (i am aiming to replace my lowest 2 pieces) right now I am pretty much Fireland H/DS geared.
and in the current state damage is definitely not the issue and this might elevate the buggy P4 I am having troubles with. I will still place my pet behind the statue but it will make healing easier and if I do mess up at least nothing bad will happen XD.

Anyone got experience or tried this out already?

After some googeling I found the answer
T5 does indeed help at the MC phase, so if you got decent gear and you have time to spare on p2 and p3 then
going for the T5 tactics might be less of an hassle.

Do you have glyph of mend pet? If you are having trouble keeping your pet alive it will probably help. (Increased healing by 60%.) Spiced mammoth treats are probably near pointless at lvl 85 but you could try using that or first aid on your pet if you have to. also if you have the points to spare you can invest in silverback so your pet can heal from its growl.

I’m not sure how using rift stalker will work out since your gear lvl is important and you are already replacing your melee wep with a 70 item but the worst that could happen by giving it a try is having to restart the fight. I have never used rift stalker in my soloing, I just use glyph of mend pet and my sunwell raiding gear. (Since it’s the best a like me 70 can get.)

Good luck soloing. Hope your mount drops soon.

Question, are you BM while doing this? (just checking)

Also you have to wear all current gear, the only thing that you should be using is the staff and using its buff.

The main reason for the T5 approach is because of the MC and placement of pet issue/bug (I have some serious issues with the pet placement most of the time my pet barely responds the moment I move anywhere near the statue)

@SylviaDragon I have all necessary glyphs and preferred pet spec. and don't you mean glyph of mending :P?

It isn't because the pet dies or anything else.
the t5 is purely to prevent your pet dying when you accidentally get MC'd.
and this is only advisable if you have an overkill of DPS and time to spare on P2 and P3 if you barely manage to meet the dps requirements to get the weapons down and the advisers then this is out of the question.

@ Qinni I do use BM spec only difference I have is that I replaced carefull aim with improved serpent sting (since bm is my raiding offspec)

I managed to do one try last night before I needed to join raid. the only revision I need to make on p2 is that after the staff I need to get rid of the mace asap I accidentally left it up and it messed up my p3.

Atm I have around 395 ilv so I think gear is not going to be a problem.
I dint really notice a DPS issue last night I just ended up making some mistakes since I needed to rush before the raid invites went out :)
Today I have the whole evening to test some things out. but I most likely clear malygos first before I go back to TK again.

Again it doesn't matter what gear you use. I'm in all raid finder gear and I'm able to do it just fine.

I was referring to SylviaDragon comment since he/she said ilv was important.
with my current gear + Keal staff p1-3 is a walk trough the park. MY problem is ONLY P4 right now it is just to random for my taste which is mostly because of my pet.

some situations I have encountered:
1. Pet not responding (I does NOT have the stun/toy buff) which results in not being able to pet attack and kc making phase longer and more chance on mistakes aka MC. (pretty much caused most wipes hands down)

2. Pet getting disorientated sometimes (which is normal ) but sporadically cause the pet to wander in to the wall or sometimes even in the statue or just plain out of Kael melee range and most of the time after that not responding anymore with the move to.. skill, only solution either dismissing or calling pet to me and moving manual behind the statue.

3. Sometimes the disorient in combination with the odd wandering causes Keal to reposition himself either in the statue or on such a crappy spot that avoiding MC becomes extremely hard (which result in not being able to dps keal and repositioning pretty much becoming hell with the whole mc thing). yet again only reason to solve this is calling the pet to me and move together with my pet behind the statue and sit him there (another huge change of MC this way).

But I will experiment a little more tonight and ill see what is less of an hassle for me.
and just to be sure ill take my beetle with me as well to see if that one is more responsive. maybe my turtle is just a "special case" >_>

edit: don't you guys ever experience troubles with pet positioning or non responsive pets?

Nope. I just put my beetle on passive, move it into place, MD and profit. Maybe its just one of those movement bugs and your pet is snagging itself on something.

Interesting you mention the beetle.

I went back last night and I finally managed to clear it

I took both my beetle and turtle with me (unfortunately my beetle was not completely spec'd as is should have been) but I did notice the beetle bugged out way less then my turtle did.

The only thing that's iffy is the fall damage on p5 so I need some burst to get it down before the 3th lapse >_> but ill guess the more i clear this fight the better it goes :) i am just glad I finally managed to get there :D
