Don't be like me! I just did a Looking for Random RAID and had no earthly idea all my pet talents were reset. I have a nasty habit of not looking at patch notes. ...and I play BM both for pvp and raid.



Last boss I did far better DPS, I swear!

Hmm, that's odd. None of my pets have had their talents reset.

Wow, really? My fiancee just said his hunter pets weren't all reset, either.

Yikes, even all my stabled pets were completely reset! Scare beast on by default with growl and all points vanished. CURIOUS!

How strange! I went and double checked all my pets, and even my stabled ones still had their talents. I wonder why yours mysteriously reset. o.o

I'll have to check this ASAP. WTF...

Even weirder- my hunter alts were all fine no idea, but poor Galaxy! I haven't made it through all the stabled pets yet to set talents again. Augh. Then, randomly between bgs, all the pet abilities went back to default.

Did you swap specs? I keep a BM spec around for critter-taming and RP but a SV spec for raiding. I got a start when I poked at my armory link one day and saw no talents mapped out for my critters in BM spec, even though they're set in SV.

Hmmm... I only have two BM specs - pve and pvp based. Both specs the pets were reset....

That's very strange! I just went through mine and all of them were fine!

Woops, I should clarify... I haven't set up any pet talents in my BM spec, just my SV spec. Nothing got reset on me. I just don't actually play in my BM spec (I should try it one day, though. I looooove SV, don't particularly care for MM.).

haha no prob! I'm still getting my talents set on all my stabled pets as I rotate them in and out for the evenings.

Rosa is fine. Galaxy seems the only one affected ><; GRR!!! Ah well, it seems isolated to her.

UPDATE!!!!! So, this happened. AGAIN. I was irritated b/c I had just selected my beautiful team for raid and about 10 minutes prior to hopping into DS10 with my guildies for the first half of the raid, I noticed Kasha (Loque) stealthed and had her bar wonky and her talents reset.

I SHOOK MY FIST!!! My whole team! WHY!!!!!

Since this is a second occurrence, I put in a ticket. Fab respond time, and I even said they didn't need to contact me back if they didn't want to. The pertinent section of the email I received about this issue is as follows:

After some research it appears the issue you are having may be related to your User Interface (UI). This applies whether you have a custom UI or not. To help resolve this issue we recommend the following steps:

1) Exit the World of Warcraft to your desktop by logging out of the game and exiting.
2) If you used an "installer" for a custom UI, see if it has an "uninstaller" and use it.
3) Inside the World of Warcraft Program Folder, rename the "WTF," "Cache," and "Interface" folders to "WTF-Old," "Cache-Old," and "Interface-Old."
4) Restart your computer.
5) Make sure that you are using WOW.EXE or LAUNCHER.EXE to start the game. Please do not run any UI installers beforehand, as we want to eliminate them as part of the issue.
6) Upon launching the game, you should see the Intro cinematic movie and be prompted to agree to the Terms of Use. Once you authenticate past the login screen, the "AddOns" button should no longer be visible at the lower left corner of the character selection screen. Both points mentioned previously must hold true if you should complete the aforementioned steps correctly.

Note: Please also note these folders contain UI addons as well as some UI settings. However, custom macros and keybinding are saved server-side and will not be removed.

JUST IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE! I'm trying what the lovely GM suggested. If you're curious, I run with DBM, TotalRP2, Recount, GTFO as my addons. I don't have custom UI-ness outside what those addons provide. Here's to hoping this is the solution!

I'll of COURSE let you know if the issue comes back and what we discover at that point.

I noticed when I switched specs from BM to Surv it reset all my talents. Then it reset them again another day when I switched back to BM. :-/

Yup, it happened to me as well, but only when I respecced from MM to SV.
Well, it was the second time I've changed my talents, so didn't know pet talents would reset.
I resspecced Wed morning, and Wed evening we did raid.

I found out AFTER we defeated Madness.
Without pet talents I was 11th in DPS (25man)

Just to clarify: I haven't changed my talents- I'm BM/BM (BM raid/BM pvp) and haven't adjusted them in eons. However, I DO pop back and forth depending on what floats my boat for the day. I haven't seen my pet talents respec just from changing from pve to pvp. :p that would make it SO much simpler.

However, I wonder if these issues may be related?

Haven't had that issue with my pet talents BUT it reminds me of something else - yesterday my paladin's "specific dungeons" checkmarks were suddenly gone from the LFD menu (and no I didn't hit the "uncheck all") xD

So far that's been an isolated incident though.
