Ahh March seems so far away. I'm excited for this though, I'm dying to hear more about Mists of Pandaria.
A Break in the Mists: Alert the Press!

Since the announcement of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria at BlizzCon 2011, we've been hard at work on all of the new game features, environments, dungeons, and other content that awaits adventurers. Today, we're inviting members of the press worldwide to get an updated sneak peek and some hands-on time with the latest version of World of Warcraft's fourth expansion at an event taking place March 13 - 15.

If you want to know more about what lies hidden within the mists of Pandaria, wait for the season's end....

You can bet that there will be plenty of coverage by the media and fansites plus we'll also have our own releases we are planning to do as well that will get everyone more in the know of our plans and development of Mists of Pandaria.

I think when I saw this topic, my face nearly clung to the screen XD But, yay :D I'm honestly psyched to see what they add this time. Hydras, and new mini pets are on the top of my list.

But...dammit...why must I be going traveling in march D:

One of my favourite snippets from a blue poster so far (Source) :

The pandaren mount is still being finalized, so what you’ve heard (or seen) are just rumors at this point. Obviously we want the mount to be something awesome, which will take some time to perfect. In addition to the pandaren mount, expect to see a ton of new mounts in Mists of Pandaria. In fact, if any of the new creatures being added in the next expansion look up to the task, I’m sure the developers are looking for ways to throw a saddle on them so they can adventure through Azeroth with our heroes. Though I’m sure some are more comical looking than others. :P Anyway, once the information is ready, we’ll get it out to all of you. Trust!

(Bolding ands italics were added by me)

If anything new and wild that looks rideable will be enabled to be rideable, I wonder if there's finally the possibility of certain players being able to tame their own mounts ;)

that would be quite awesome. id love to go 'epona style' (twilight princess when you wrangle epona back under your control, seahorse quest in WoW is same concept) on a wild beast to break it in and make it into a mount. Even if its via quests. I think it'd be awesome to go on a hunting journey for a certain amount of days until you unlock the end quest where you discover the creature and have to wrangle it under your control and bring it back to the questgiver where you in return recieve the mount as an item

I'd like it more if it is for every class and not just one.

^-^ of course, the seahorse quest appeals to every class, same as the quests to raise cubs and hatchlings into fullgrown mounts, i just personally find raising the babies slow and not overly enjoyable after you do it on two or three characters. there could be questgivers that teach players how to track these elusive beasts through means like the quest to kill shango (the paw print tracks sparkling to indicate that you need to inspect there), there would be no hunter specific skills involved, hunter skills in terms of tracking would only just be an added bonus that isnt particularly needed (like if your trying to find a certain mob for different stages of the quest if you have to say, acquire some meast as bait. of course herbalists would have an edge for finding plants for bait).

After two or three times obviously it'd get really boring just like raising the babies so if the amount of daily quests you needed to complete was shortened and enough unique quests implimented for each way to track the creature down (like say, have it play heavily on RNG. you may have an easy quest one day but then next day your faced with a challenge. then maybe the next day your faced with a different kind of challenge. then you do the quest the next day and there is no challenge). It could be like, your in hillsbrad hunting a creature, and you have to go somewhere, but you find strange mobs there that werent there before. then a couple days later you have to go back there cause something new may of occured in that area and the mobs are gone.

Had a thread on the forums with what I thought was a decent idea. Indeed, only hunters could tame a beast for riding BUT other players could purchase say a token from the Blizz store that could be given to a hunter to tame a mount for that person. It would act like the Guardian mount in that it would be BoE until it is traded. I took it a step further and suggested this could open a whole new vendor, namely a tack shop. It could sell everything from simple saddles (needed to ride the new mount) up to saddlebags allowing the mount to carry two bags for you.
Blizz would make money, gold would have a new circulation source in game, and people would have the enjoyment of riding a mount that is much different than anything they could get before.

i believe that it means there are gonna be more mounts with common models similar to the ones that will be shown in mop
i think it would be interesting to see hunters tame rare beasts as mounts rather then any old beast but i agree that every class should have the ability to do so themselves except it would be unique to the class i could see some drake flying around in the wild and this warrior jumps on top of it and its like

Warrior: i can haz mount!?
Drake: No!
Warrior uses Shield Bash
Drake: ok ok fine!

of course thats just an idea

Yes, because we certainly don't already have enough angst and drama over rare spawns. Sorry, I just dislike when game mechanics are tied exclusively to rares, like spirit beasts. (Now that we have Ghostcrawler, I've forgiven Blizz about SBs.)

i get what ur saying i think there should be rares that are tamable as mounts only not as pets this includes dragonkins and beasts and the beasts would be untamable as pets like rams maybe not rares but theres have to be some way to limit the taming capabilities for hunters to use as mounts, also i think all rares that are hunter challenges should react to non hunters in a certain way a buff that makes it immune to all damage and effects except tame beast it should be something like Desire for Companionship The beast will not rest until it is befriended by a kind and loving person i think that would work certain rares however would differ like the fire spider who neds to be dpsed down first i forget the name and after that point it should stay at that health and then gain the buff the buff should also remove the non hunter from combat instantly or somethin like that so that tagging em would be easier

Im not too fond of this idea because the hunters could charge you gold to do this (a lot of it too i bet) and also it involves real money. We already have to pay enough for blizz store and tcg mounts and minipets (virtual items only, im excluding the thousand or so dollars worth of items that blizz sells from their store that are real world items).

Just as a reminder, the NDA from the press event lifts on Monday, right at midnight PDT, so get ready for a flood of information as fan sites publish all of their articles. :) I'll certainly be staying up on Sunday night to catch the surge. Can't wait! Perhaps we'll even get the beta to look forward to shortly after. *crosses fingers*

WoW Insider source

"Yak mounts? In my Asia-inspired continent? It's more likely than you think, according to Blizzard community rep Bashiok. Today, he confirmed on Twitter that the shaggy beasts of burden we saw in Mists of Pandaria preview screenshots will be available as mounts when the expansion hits. What wasn't indicated was whether or not the yaks are the official pandaren mounts; I'm leaning toward no, but we'll see."

HECK YA!
