For this toon I wanted to go with a dark chainmail look, and incorporate as much of the new armor models as possible. In particular I wanted as much of the dark "faux platemail" as I could get - having done the "blue look" on my resto paladin Veneratus, I wanted to try a dark variation on my worgen hunter.

Unfortunately, this set probably took the most work of any, so far - due to the fact that by the time 4.3 rolled around, Mauser had long since stripmined most of the quests I needed "dark" items from... which meant I had to get creative and/or go "the long way" for many of the items (such as the gloves - they were the last source of black "faux plate" gloves that I hadn't yet exhausted, and required me to pretty much run all the quests in ST mountains... XD).

But, I am pleased with how it all turned out (although I wish I could find a decent headgear - looks like I'm going to have to wait till lvl 62 for that...). This is her with Garm; gear list below the pics. Enjoy!

You seriously have a hunter problem though. I would get that checked...


you have a WOTLK wolf as a pet at level 52? Is there a location where they are at a lower level? Or is it some fancy (go to Grizzly Hills at a low level and tame a level 8 spawn of this pet type)

The black WOTLK wolf is tameable from the human starting area in elwyn forest

See, can't find one that I like an' stuff... but that said, I actually avoid the snarl problem with macros - see my sticky on the subject (Worba's Guide to Staying Human (for worgen!)) - so that I'm not in worgen form, except during combat, when a snarl is rather appropriate...

Yeah Tarnfalk linked to it - they have a few "specialty" pets added for newbies, like the wolf, and the red outlands raptor, etc. Seemed a good fit for Mauser.

I think Ashtail would go along great too. You have a similar color coding to Ashtail's skin

That is a good suggestion. I have him on another hunter, but they haven't really clicked, so ... yeah. I'll go check on him with Mauser.

I really like the muted colors on that set, it's very very nice.
