I know I had that problem when I was camping for him. Never did find out. Being horde, I couldn't very easily camp. I was dortunate that what goes around, comes around, and that someone I once helped and knew I was lookin for him sounded the alarm when he spawned in. I can say it's longish, I've set for a couple hours before, circling his spawnpoints in the early morning before the jerks get up, and in that time havn't seen him spawn

That thread is also for asking about respawn timers to keep from multiple threads asking the same questions popping up.

@Snow - Wow. I'm glad you finally got him. The warlock that killed him said he was sorry. I told him I wasnt angry, just disappointed.
@Foru - Thanks! Someone in trade was like "He spawns on the hour" and I know for a fact thats not true at all.

Now here's my question. I want Sewer Beast on my horde hunter. There is no way she's going to get him as he's tamed/killed quite quickly. So.. does anyone know if NPCScan will go off if your character is dead. I think this is the only way I can be get to him in enough time. Do a quick rez and tame.
I had planned on testing this with another low rare that was up, but have not done it yet.

It should, I think. Hmmm.....

What I did, aside from having friends on live to help, was I'd circle high looking for him. When I was finally going in for the tame, I dismounted and let myself fall right into the sewer. Doing so I had no aggro from the guards, flying or pat. As for other players... If you restrain yer looking to only during off-peak hours, ya should hopefully be faster on the draw than those not activly looking.

Can I just say Good Luck to all looking for him. I'm Alliance and have never, EVER seen him so you got your work cut out for you, especially if you are Horde on an Alliance heavy realm.
The problem I see with the NPCscan while a spirit is that if Sewer Beast spawns in a canal that isn't the one you are near you'll have to be very quick!

He does seem to be very elusive.. I've never really seen him yet even on my Ally alt, which makes this even more a challenge.
I'm not an avid camper. I instead put my hunter in the area of the spawns and log in at various times to check. Was thinking the only way I could park her there was to have her there in spirit form, but I will check it out and see if I can be high enough to not draw attention from the guards. I'm assuming NPCScan will go off at that height.

I've never tried to get this crocolisk, so I can't say whether this is a valid strategy for it or not; but I thought it might be helpful. Just playing around the other day I found that a horde hunter can fly straight down out of the sky into the water just north of Stormwind (right above Cathedral Square on the map) and swim with Camouflage on all the way into town. There's one point where I had to watch for guards and quickly hop over some rocks then get back in the water, but I was never spotted. I sat under the dock where the kids go to fish in the middle of town for about an hour and was never noticed. I even put explosive decoys on the walk then hopped back under the dock.
So you may not have to be dead to camp for him. I'm on Khadgar, where there are about 10,000 Alliance if wowprogress is at all accurate. Do update when you get him.

No luck yet on getting or even spotting sewer beast. I did find that I could park myself high up enough to not trigger the guards, but you have to be pretty high for it. I now park myself over SW every night and log on to check when I get up in the morning. Am planning to log check over the weekends to see if I can spot him.
