Hey everyone.

A friend of mine said that come MoP, exotic pets will be tameable by anyone in any spec. Can anyone confirm this? I've been away from the forums for awhile, and I've been looking through the threads but maybe I'm just blind and not seeing it.

I seriously doubt this - at least last time I checked, tame exotics was still a lvl 69 spell in mop.

While it could be done better (e.g. make tame exotics a lvl 10 BM core spell), opening up exotics to every class would be a huge mistake imo, so here's hoping this latest rumor turns out to be just that.

Mm, nope I have not heard of any such announcement or rumour. I'm pretty sure exotics will remain in BM.

I doubt it would be true, BM only pets are there for a reason, are you sure they didn't mix up the new pet talent system?

Nope. Beast Mastery is still BM only.

Just checked the talent calculator for MoP, it's still listed as a BM only skill

Whew, thanks! My friend was absolutely convinced that she had read a blue post somewhere saying that all pets would be tameable by any spec. I love my pets! I love the hunt, the challenge tames, the uniqueness of exotic pets. HAVING to be BM in order to tame them is a plus for me. I'm hoping that it remains a rumor as well.

Actually what your friend may have heard was the possible implementation of,

all pets would be tameable by any spec
all tameable pets would be able to be any spec.

This is something that from memory was on the table of discussion a little while back, meaning that the pets may have the ability to spec into which ever tree they liked (eg,Tenacity, Ferocity, Cunning) rather then restricted by their family type.

So your friend may be not all the crazy after all

That would be insane im sure i speak for every hunter when i say bm is a fun spec it may not be top dps but if exotics were for every spec then that would make bm less unique and that would also take the fun out of it,
blizz buffs and nerfs things to give balance but one thing they may or may not realize is some things are especialy fun for the players and nobody wants blizz to nerf the fun. Eyes of the beast is a good example of this while not bm specific.

Okay- while I could see that making more sense, part of what she specifically said was something along the lines of, "I hate BM. I won't change specs just to tame one of the rares or exotics since they will all be tameable by any spec in MoP." Though allowing all pets to have the ability to be different specs would be AWESOME. I'd love to run with my fire boar some more!

Yes-- highly agree with this. I still miss EotB. I sometimes miss volley as well - but I LOVE the new multishot + serpent spread so I'm good with not having it.

Tbh i would not mind if all pets could be tamed by all spec .... i read Ghostcrawlers post about the difficulty in different between the dps specs, si i woulc not see the harm in letting all spec tame all pets - and then give each spec a more distinquish trademark to it. Dont get me wrong.. i would stll hate being a melee hunter, but if they implemented that, i would just simple choose the range option - just would hate to loose my special pets to do so if e.g. it was the bm spec who became melee.

No no no and a thousand times no. Leave the exotics to the Beast Masters. *hugs her exotics* I play BM for them and cause it's fun.

From everything that I've read, Exotics will still remaine BM only. However there are indications that we will be able to choose our pets specs. I hope that we'll be able to spec our pets. I'd love to use my Vlakorados (warp stalker) more.
