Getting a new puppy.

Well after the loss of old dog, Toby about a year ago, I finally made the decision of wanting another dog. Nothing could replace him, but I also wanted a dog of my own. After all I already have a cat of my own. ;3 I coaxed my parents into helping me find one and after a month of searching we're narrowing it down to two cuties. We had gone to a shelter last weekend, but it didn't really have any dogs that caught my eye sadly.

These two are our finalists:

"George" is only nine months old and "Usher" is four months old. I actually thought George was at least a year old. XD The application to adopt a dog in general was approved. Now we just have to choose... GAWD I DON'T WANNA HAVE TO CHOOSE. D:

Tough call, they're both adorable. Good luck in your search. :)

Good luck! I for one think George is cuter. He has more personality in his face in my opnion.

He's the winner. Sadly, George had some issues with larger men and since my dad has a short temper we really didn't want to put him through that as he was quite skittish. I may not get to see him this weekend. He's in TN and I'm in MA. He'd be coming up to NH in a van with some other dogs that are being adopted up here, but they appear to be full this weekend. =( Gonna think of names though... Riley and Bandit on the list.

Meet Zeke. We picked him up today from the bus stop. A lot of dogs were going to new homes besides him. XD My older dog Emma is not at all pleased as she's been bullying him around a bit. He does seem a bit protective of food so we need to move at least his food away from both of them. He does remind me a bit of my old dog Toby. He looks a bit like him at least. XD

He looks lovely :) It's normal for the older dog to bully for a while. She's worried her position will be threatened and is making sure he knows she's top bitch :) She should get over it soon enough. Him being protective of food is probably not surprising in the environment he came from, too. It was probably either defend it or lose it. Hopefully he'll relax over time.

I figured as much. She wants to establish everything is hers and he's bottom of the pack here. XD He's getting the idea. He approached her once with his stomach low to the ground. He's fully crate trained at least, so he has that. She's approaching him at times and letting out little growls along with nipping at him at times. He really hasn't fought back except when there was food involved. Hopefully they'll both settle with each other in a couple weeks. Emma knows what it's like to be dominated like that. We brought her in as a puppy when Toby was about five and he wasn't pleased with her.
