Wait, weren't these datamined awhile back? I saw pictures of these a month or so ago

Nice I remmber these where datamined awhile back. I had a hunch they where going to be in the Darkmoon faire but I dunno could be anything.

They were but no one knows where they might be. MoP is now my guess.

with our luck, the Horde get that fugly Windrider, while the Alliance get the flying kittycat.

I refuse to be seen on a Windrider.

I assume all will be revealed when the servers come back up. Perhaps it's a coincidence they sent that cryptic message out just before servers went down but I think not. At the moment my guess is just the Blizzard Store (which is also down), but it does seem like awfully soon after the sparkly dragon.

Flying Kittycat? The other one is just a gryphon.

Yeah thats what I was about to say...lol.

a gryphon = basically a mutant flying kittycat (body of a lion, head and wings of a bird).

so it's technically a chimera, but it's still mostly kittycat!

I love the gryphon mounts. I really don't like the Horde "basic" mount. I find it incredibly unattractive. its proportions are... odd.

Fair enough But the eagle part is more prominent so I wondered if maybe you thought it was a spectral winged guardian or something

Well, the Blizzard Store is back up and no sign of any new spectrals. Maybe I'm being premature, but I guess the mounts are less likely to be from there. Maybe they'll use them for a special fundraiser to pay out 600 employees

Agreed, and those really don't compare to the awesomeness of the gold dragon imo. If they're store mounts, I'm not sure releasing them so soon after would be a good idea.

I imagine 125 or 150 mount reward.

That would be fairly awesome! I was a little sad that they got achievements for 125 and 150 mini-pets, but nothing for 125 mounts.

I'd love it if there was some way you could get both of these! Mostly because I really, really hate windriders and never want to be seen on one, but still.

Hmm. Am I the only one who actually likes windriders as much as gryphons?
Something about a windrider is cute to me... The bat like wings, the cute floppy head, the long pointy tail...

I love wind riders! Think it's the scorpion tail.

Looks like the mounts will be faction-specific. I now have a Spectral Gryphon in the 'not collected' section of my armory. It's rideable at level 20.

Just saw some speculation, they might be rewards for scroll of resurrection. If so, they'll be fuckin rare. :/

I'm betting on Scroll of Resurrection. The quote points to it as well as them being ghosts... they were somewhat resurrected.
Maybe I can convince one of my friends to come back to WoW.

I like the concept of windriders, I just wish they'd get a much-needed update like the Tauren cat form received. :<
