Voodoo Ronin - Lvl 73 Ret Pally - Jigokusai

This set is the last stop on the trip I had planned for my BE paladin Jigokusai; I rolled him a long time ago, and as one might guess from the name this toon was created with an oriental (primarily Japanese / Shinto) theme in mind - specifically his name (in my hackjob of a translation) means "Hell Saint", and his RP backdrop was that he was an eccentric demon hunter / ghost buster. But by the time I got him to 17 or so, I'd run out of interest in playing him. He had a brief reappearance in late 3.3 when I got him the Darkspear Pride; it was the first look that seemed to capture some of the essence I'd had in mind when I first rolled him, but ultimately it was just too much troll / not enough him, and I switched back to other toons.
But when 4.3 came out, I got to thinking about that set once more - first I put together a couple oriental sets for Jigo to showcase some oriental-themed items and that could be had at a lower level (posted elsewhere), but I knew that I wanted to end up with something that included the shoulder graphic from my Darkspear Pride costume...
The lacquered wood pieces reminded me a bit of o'yoroi, so I looked around for any that could be had without raiding or getting to 85, and discovered the Pauldrons of Gruesome Fate. Using that as my starting piece, I worked my way outward from there, and after some tinkering was able to fill out the rest with a blend of lvl 70 PVP and thorium boots & belt (for the slots omitted by the PVP gear - imo the thorium blends in perfectly).
One benefit of having been left for so long in limbo, was that Jigo hadn't done many quests - in particular I was happy to discover that he'd stopped just short of doing the one for the unique Sin'dorei Warblade (back when I'd last played him, that quest was still a 5 man), so I'd grabbed that and kept it in the bank through the long haul to 69; once there it was a bit of a slog to gather the 312 JP needed for the shoulders (it's amazing how long it takes to earn that many JPs at that level, esp. if you're not into PVP), and then finally it all snapped together.
