My Namesake

Unread post by Worba »

This is my oldest hunter, and I'd held off building a mog set for him as I wanted something that was not just neat looking but also that incorporated pieces from his earlier travels. Having finished the sets for most of my other toons, I finally rolled up my sleeves and took a shot at my "own" set...

It came together surprisingly quickly once I put my mind to it. Being a longtime leatherworker (and a packrat), I still had his old netherscale chest and belt, so I started with those, and sifted through my bank bric-a-brac for more; the spaulders of grounded lightning snapped in nicely, as did the scythe of the unseen path (finally I could not only equip it once more, but also dual wield it!), and my Rimebane Rifle lent some solid spiky bang-bang to the mix.

My warrior Widoe made the cloak, and for boots I finally settled on wild stalkers, whose buckles and straps tied into the shoulders well - I was able to grind those fairly quickly, but I had to get a little creative to obtain the remaining items on my list, as the only toon who had them was on another server; Khitsune already had the headdress of the first shaman from when I'd used her to preview the archaeology profession, and she'd scored the warstrike gauntlets (virtually unseen outside of AQ) during one of her interminable sweeps of Alcaz Island, back when I was trying to get the Vanguard Headdress for my paladin Veneratus.

She was also high enough to camp for the scaled greaves of the marksman (unlike my orc, who is still 80), but after a few days of waiting, I ended up just buying them off the AH (not cheap, but Khit made over 3x the cost selling her Alcaz loot).

After moving Worba and Khitsune to Cenarius, my orc had the rest of his mog set, Khitsune had a free name change to Kitsune in the bargain (I'd previously created placeholders there named Khitsune and Kitsune)... and my future Pandaria toons had themselves a couple sponsors. :D

I really think orcs are one of the only races who can pull off the wolf masks well. Almost every other character just looks....derpy in them, due to the way the mask shape changes to cover the face.

Looks very nice on you!

Thanks guys :D

And I agree about the mask - it took me a very, very long time to find a good home for it...
