Can't find my cat

So with this nice weather outside I've been leaving my bedroom window open as it's in the basement. So I decided earlier to let my cat outside as she never usually goes to far, then went out and forgot about her. I left my window open but screen closed. I came back to find the screen half open, the cat figured out how to push the screen open and took off. I looked all around the area and no cat's, I wasn't really expecting to find them anyway. Cat's are very good at not being found. I'm not to worried about my cat as she knows the area very well and always comes back, it's my buddies cat I'm worried about. He doesn't know the area and still has yet to be fixed, so I'm guessing he gone out to try and find a unfixed female cat. My cat has a collar with a vet tag and a little bell. My buddies cat has neither yet. At this point it's been several hours and to keep looking is pointless, I've tried shaking a treat bag and playing cat sounds on my phone and neither worked so far.
Any suggestions ?

I'd set some food outside the door and just keep an eye out. When my indoor cats went "adventuring" (they were fixed, had shots, just liked to be escape artists), that usually brought them home fairly quickly.

Sleep in a shirt then hang it in or next to the window, cat's have a good sense of smell and will smell you and think of food and back scratches

I put a can of tuna outside on the table, so if they get with in range of it they will smell it.

Well it turns out my cat got herself back in, I'm guessing she was the one who pushed the screen open. My buddie just went outside and was talking to someone, his cat heard his voice and walked towards him.

Lawl! That's how it usually is. Darn cats are like that. You freak out, searching all over, sure they're dead or something...
And they amble up and go "...Food?:3"

Eh guess I'm not to worryed about that most cats I know are scared of cars. Heck so many cats sleep on our driveway its madness XD but they run once anything goes near em.
BUT I understand a cat whos a indoor cat wont know what a car is. I'm just not used to dealing with indoor cats.

I dont let my cats out...ever. I have a very crazy woman who lives on my street and once threatened to leave anti-freeze out for the cats to drink if she found any cat on her property...

I'm glad she came back!
I had a similar situation last december, but without happy ending: my silly male cat disappeard and a few days later we found out that he ran into a train.

Now we only have one female that only stays in our garden. I think females are 'safer' because they don't go far like males.

Wow, that's horrible! :O
I never let my cats out either, but still I lost my 12 year old siamese, cause she opened a window when I wasn't paying attention. Ran straight to the road and got killed.
