Grindy Goodness

I've done it on my druid already, but the time has now come for my hunter to get a nether drake. I started last night, and now I'm at about 8600/12000. It's going a lot faster this time than last. On my druid it took a solid seven days. Part of the reason may be that it's fairly desolate these days, so it's a lot easier to find eggs without twenty people trying to yoink them from you. Another reason may be that I can kill stuff a lot faster so I can get more kills per night, meaning more chances for egg drops. Hmm...either way, I suspect it will still take about five days. But at least this is a nice, relaxing change from my usual heroic grinding. That stuff can get old pretty fast. And at least once this is all done, I'll have a shiny new mount!

I'm thinking I'll get either the onyx, purple, or cobalt. I want one of the darker ones this time.
I may have to go forth and conquer the talbuk rep next (can't for the life of me remember that faction's name!).

for nether it can take like a day if you put your mind to it trust me ive seen it done o.o
for the talbucks depends on ya realm and on you cas i started killing the mobs and noticed about 7+ horde doing quests in the same place so i just stopped doing it for a whole day and helped them on group quests instead T^T something that shoulda took a day took 3 days >.>

Agh, I've yet to get a Netherdrake but I still want one badly...I really have to grit my teeth and just start doing those dailies and egg hunting again. -.- I think I'm at Honored with them currently.

Kurenai for Alliance
Mag'har for Horde
I really need to finish my Netherdrake. I've got a talbuk and nether ray, but that Netherdrake grind just bores me for some reason. Not as bad as Wintersaber, though. I need the mounts, since I want that 100 mounts dragonhawk. I had been thinking of giving up that idea for the duration, but getting my nether ray and warbear has got it going again...shiny blue dragonhawk, you will be mine!

I finished my netherdrake in a week finding at least 2-3 eggs per day. I still need to grind my talbuk rep but thus far I've been lazy sadly enough.. I must admit I do love the blue one as it reminds me of Malfurion Stormrages mount <.<

My first day of doing Netherwing I found, kid you not, at least 15 eggs. There was NO ONE out there, they were all mine. Yesterday I only found 9 but there were at least four other alliance in the area. In two days I'm almost revered! I think it goes a lot faster now and yeah, it can get boring, but chucking booterangs at the peons makes it all worthwhile.

"I AM DA POWERFUL!"..."Work is da poop!" I love those guys!

Wednesday night and I am officially 2k rep away from my new mount! Had it not been for a pesky raid that my husband managed to get me into (hehe), I probably would have completed it tonight. But, that's ok. All I have to do tomorrow are the dailies, and that should about do it! Yay!
It was kinda crazy. Today when I went out to the island, the first thing I did was mine some Nethercite and bam, an egg. Fast forward about 40 minutes and I'd already acquired about 13 eggs. It was nuts, they were dropping all over the place! Went back after the raid and only managed to find another 6 between midnight and 1:00 a.m. But still, 19 eggs in one day is not too shabby at all! Think I got 20 yesterday. ^_^
Yaaay!!!

Ughh....been trying to do this the past few days, and I have found a grand total of ONE egg. I must have the worst luck. -.-

I heard they increased the spawn of the eggs awhile back... I did it some time ago, I think early into Wrath... it took awhile, hehe.
And I still haven't finished that fsking quest to follow the last guy on a flying mount... he can DIAF as far as I'm concerned...

God, yes. -___- I managed to do all of those quests but I can't for the life of me beat the final one.

Well it couldn't hurt. xD I've read so many different strategy guides for that one, but still the most I've gone is 3/4 of the way through and then I failed.

Take someone with you, have them with you the whole time his attention can get diverted even if they arent on the quest with you. Dont try going too fast, fly a bit above him with your camera angeled so you can see below you and in front at the same time. Also be prepared for very fast turns - he was easier for me than the orc was but then again the orc played the HAHA FOOLED YOU game a lot. Hope it helps - most importantly keep trying you'll get him it may just take time

You gotta know where to look and always check or park your toon out there and logg in here and there do a round of checks to see if they are there. I found alot @ the fort. Just look for a purple mist coming up out of a building.

I found a video on youtube a looooong time ago that showed all the spawn points. I have most of them memorized or at least know the general area, and the tell-tale purple smoke isn't too hard to find. Also, I try to mix it up. I'll farm in the mine for a while, then go fly around the island, then head to the fort, then back to the mine. If you do one thing for too long it can get tiring.
As far as Skyshatter, for me it was all about learning his path and cutting him off. He flies so fast that I can't imagine it's possible to fly behind him and keep up. A nifty trick: run to the runway. Press the space bar to lift up, then press forward. If you fly in a perfectly straight line, you're good. Sometimes you have to land again and then lift off again. Maintain this straight angle when doing this challenge. Using your mouse, it's very easy to misjudge your altitude and he can get too far away from you. So instead of using your mouse to tilt up or down, practice using the space bar and X. I flew above him the whole time to avoid the meteors as much as possible (a couple still managed to hit), and slightly ahead with my angled pointed back behind me (as if I were looking in a rearview mirror...I guess). It could take some getting used to to learn how to turn right and left when your view is essentially reversed, but it's more efficient. Finally, there are many times that he either dives or ascends at a steep angle, You have to ascend or descend with him, or he'll get too far away. That's why flying in a straight line and having your camera angled is a big help. Beat him on the third try this way. Would have done it the second time, but he does what Nevar mentioned and starts spinning around chucking meteors, and I lost track of him.
Anyhow, all in all he's not too bad once you get used to flying differently. I also recommend watching one of the many egg videos on youtube.

Druids have an easy time. They can just shift back into flyform and continue.

You don't get knocked off your mount anymore, just a minor knockback. Makes it WAY easier to do this race. It took a lot more tries to beat Skyshatter before the changes on my druid, even with flight form.
