Taming yourself, and other forms, as your pet.

In the quest The Cleansing, we have a thread up vaguely detailing a newly discovered glitch, where a hunter pet took on the form of it's owner, like the mob Inner Turmoil does. (http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17363) That thread is detailing how to get rid of the snag -- I'm interested in replicating it. Who wouldn't want to fromp around with yourself.. punching Deathwing right in his stupid tentacles.

Now, I've been mucking with the quest for a few hours, trying to work up the details. I picked up all 3 skins of the cat the first glitchee seems to have, but that doesn't seem to be the ticket.

The two possible glitch occurrences seem likely to occur either:

1) When Inner Turmoil first appears, after a 7 second summon time.
2) When Inner Turmoil aggros.

The second seems to be the most likely by far, at this point. I've noticed the game captures your image for Inner Turmoil at two points. These two points. If you change clothes while Inner Turmoil is unattackable and yammering your ear off, it will do a quick snap -- out of sight -- and change into what you're wearing when it aggros. If you FD, it goes blank. Just a buff of smoke and a weapon.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!

Dunno yet!

But this is a neat little thing I'm willing to try out. Inner Turmoil captures what you look like.. this includes costumes, like Orb of the Sindorei, Murloc Costume, Leyara's locket... even debuffs, like the Worgen bites in Duskwood, and the Demon Form from Durotar.

If anyone wants to help figure this out, it would be much appreciated! :) And since it's changing your existing pet's skin, it's certainly not a damage enhancer.

Keep in mind that the person hasn't replied to the question as to whether they're on a private server or not. It may be due to that.

Couldn't find her on either US or EU armory, so that's a distinct possibility.

Reposted this from the original thread to save you guys some testing:-

Pretty sure you guys just got trolled ;p Someone posted this over to the hunter forums on wow-us and I spotted it, getting the SS is easy, here's the 'how to' I posted there:-

Step 1) make 2 identical characters on different accounts, lets say Katzbalger and Flutter!
Step 2) make a guild called 'Katzbalger's Pet' with Flutter in it
Step 3) stand them side by side, take ss

Ta'dah, one SS of Katzbalger with 'himself' as his pet.

Hm, that's interesting, I've an alt dwarf hunter named Katzbalger. Named him after this: http://www.armor.com/sword149.html

...ooh, haven't been to that site in a while... must... resist...

Anyhow, just wanted to say this reminds me of the quest that has you fight the undead sailors in the Wetlands, where you get a debuff that turns you and your pet into undead. Used to do that and then hearth to IF for fun. :)

I don't think you can put symbols (apostrophes) into guild names, can you?

agreed, I'm pretty sure you cannot put punctuation in a guild name.

***edit

confirmed after a quick search.
no punctuation is permitted (nor possible) in guild or character names.

apparently it HAS happened a few times, by accident.
however, it is a reportable/punishable offense (from a blue post).
