WoW Petopia Community

So since my stable was packed full of cats that didn't even get used, poor things, I decided to sat them all free and go on a brand new, pet hunting adventure. But this time I went down the list of pets on Petopia, one by one, and decided which ones I really wanted. This includes some species of pets I'd never even dreamed of taming before but after having a proper look through every single available pet model and skin, I came to rest on 25 which I was sure about.

So I'll be posting a screenshot and a little bit of information with each pet I tame. 16 of these 25 are rare and I'm going after the non-rares first. I'll cross out each one as I go.

The hunt is now over and my stable is now full! Thank you to everyone who supported me through this! ♥

First off my list was Gemma, the Emerald Skytalon.

I've never been too fond of pets and mounts that can't land but something has always interested me about these birds. I'm not even sure if they're actual birds, elementals maybe? But they also have a very subtle hint of one of my favourite colour combos, green and purple. Green and purple is the reason I've always liked the Phosphorescent Stone Drake and Gezzarak the Huntress so much. Gemma's original name was going to be Jade but it wouldn't let me have that for some reason. Then looked up Latin words and found that Gemma means 'jewel' or 'gemstone' and this seemed to fit perfectly.

And here's my next companion, Caramel! I had her a while back because I just adored her colours, the light yellow and pink just seem to fit together so well and create such an eye-catching mix. I went to re-tame her and by heck was it a challenge. The first time I tamed her was after a wipe in Zul'Aman so I simply ran back to where the dragonhawks and the tamers were and I carefully placed my traps so that I could grab one. This time though I had to sneak in all by myself and be very careful, took me a while to get to where I wanted! And after a few trial and errors I finally grabbed back my pretty girl! I honestly have no idea why her name is Caramel though. The name just... came to me. Apparently something about her reminds me of caramel? *Shrug*

My third companion is Saphira the ice serpent. I was quite stuck between taming the blue or the black and white version but in the end my heart won over to the blue wind serpent. And she reminded me so much of Saphira from the Inheritance Cycle (No I haven't read Brisingr or Inheritance yet so don't spoil it for me. xD) that I just had to name her after her.

Today I went and tamed and had some fun with (Ganking low levels is fun as long as you don't corpse camp them, right? ^^) my new kitty, Rarity. She's named, of course, after the beautiful white pony from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've always loved this skin for these kitties though - the emerald green eyes really show through against the pure white fur.

And next is Ghost! He's, in my opinion, the best kind of core hound. (: He's named after Jon Snow's wolf from Game of Thrones.

The next pet is my cute little fox, Tod! I saw him running around in Winterspring like he owned the place, it was adorable, I *had* to tame him!

I don't think it's hard to guess where I took the name from, hehe.

Next is Indigo the Drakuru Raptor! It's funny taming someone's mount when they're still sat on it and then their mount turns on them and kills them. xD

And here's my last easy-to-grab pet, Connor! He's one of them adorable prairie wolves that bark when you click them. ♥ I love his sniffing and barking and howling so much!

From here on I only have rares to tame and Gezzarak the Huntress, who is a pain in the ass to tame apparently and I still need to start the Nether Ray questline to summon her!

Start killing shadowy Arakkoa until you get ten Time-Lost scrolls, but first off, run across the bridge over the water to kill the named shadowy Arakkoa priest. He drops a journal. Once you've followed the quest line to the quest called Adversarial Blood, all you'll have to do is go to one of the skull piles, clear the mobs around it (just to lessen annoyance during taming), and use the skull pile. You can choose who to summon, so just choose Gezzarak. She does do some knockbacks and so forth, so it might take some time to get a tame off, but it's not that hard. To make it even faster, bring some haste pots or a corehound for the buff.

You don't need to be on the quest to summon Gezz, just need the scrolls.

Thank you so much! I've never done the Nether Ray stuff before so I thought maybe it was halfway through a long questline or something, but I'll remember that! ^^

So thanks to Melentari and her useful information (And Gimlion confirming I don't have to do the quests to get her.) I went out right away to get Gezzarak. The taming was easy since I decided to use Ghost's core hound buff for a quick tame, no problems at all. Her name is now Cinder, spanning from a while ago when I thought that warp stalkers looked like Cynder from The Legend of Spyro games. (Especially in Dawn of the Dragon, don't ask lol.) I have some big plans for Cinder though made up of matching gear, matching tabard and a matching mount. Gear? It'll take me some time and effort to get. Tabard? Probably fairly easy to get, I might go and grab it soon. Mount? ... Not so easy to get. (;

Eep, after taming Gezzarak I cracked my knuckles and prepared for all the pets I have left to tame, since all of them are rare. Heading straight for one of the 'easier' ones, I was totally surprised to see him already up! The Evalcharr sat there, waiting for me. He didn't even try that hard to not be tamed! (; I named him Pistachio, because he's that colour and it makes the best ice cream ever.

Thank you! ♥ I love my new Pistachio hehe. And making a list and going after pets like that is so much more fun, means not only do you have something to aim for but it stops you from taming random things and then worrying about which ones you need to abandon later when you want more!

However I will have to worry about it when MoP comes around... ):

And to finalise the last 'easy' rare I'll get... Humar the Pridelord! Named Ezio because I can. Goes with Connor. Now I need an Altair!

I flew over to Humar's tree and he wasn't there, so I set up a timer to see how long I would wait until he spawned. After almost 20 minutes, bam, tamed, mine. Such a pretty kitty.
