Naming Pets & Mounts

Okay, so I know this is more directed at vanity pets and mounts rather than hunter pets, but I wanted to ask this anyways, and this seemed like the best place!

So, I have a question for you. Do any of you guys name your vanity pets or mounts?

I personally name every mount and vanity pet I get, or I try to. Some times it takes a little time to find the right name, but I usually figure some out. Some are quirky names, others are serious, others are allusions.

I've put up a poll to answer the question, but some actual responses would be awesome! I'm curious to see, especially with the majority of the WoW hunter community being such animal lovers :)

I name my mounts more than vanity pets. :P
Much more fun riding around on a green netherdrake yelling "HIGH HO, WELSH GREEN!"
-gasps-
Whoops, my Harry Potter side got out.

Well, Decay's (and in extention Deteriorate's) deathcharger is named Razor, but other than those two mounts, no.

The only non-hunter pet animal I've named is my Venomhide raptor, whom I've dubbed "Munchy". Those who have done the Venomhide raptor dailies will understand immediately why I named him this.

I still don't know how a tiny little hatchling managed to eat 12 silithid eggs that were the same size he was...

How do you rename your mounts?

Part of me has always wanted to name my mounts (and maybe a few minipets), but for some reason because there isn't a way to physically do that I don't really give them names. I like being able to visually see if I name something in game. Without that I'd just forget about it. ><

I know there's that new addon for vanity pets where you can give them names and get reputation and such. I might have to try that out, but I'd be more interested in a mount version. :3

lol.

You rename them in your head. :P

I stopped naming Kalli's mounts once I started going for the dragonhawk, but the others, on all toons, have names. Whether I REMEMBER said names is another story; some have more personality than others. But I wrote 'em all down for reference.

Yeah, I really wish there was some way to actually name your mounts/vanity pets. The PetsPlus addon is great, but I would love a mount version as well xD

I mean honestly, how difficult would it be for Blizz to add a naming system? For mounts it could just be a personal thing. In the tab say the nickname and the mount name. And for pets say (for example):

Etrusa
<Gumballs's Sprite Darter Hatchling>

And I have a giant list so I can remember all my mount/pet names. It's massive..

Very rarely I name my mounts (never vanity pets). I named my old warlock's dreadsteed Calcifer and I believe Rhyela's white tiger mount was named Tenseiga. My nether drakes retain their given name (Onyxien, Voranaku, etc.). If I manage to get a proto-drake someday, that just might be cool enough to deserve a name. :)

On my Night Elf, I named my Perky Pug Sir Barks-a-Lot
I get weird stares sometimes, but that was the one pet I actually coveted to have

I always put a lot of thought into my hunter pet's names, but I have way too many vanity pets and mounts to name them all :)

This post should be moved to the "Other Things We Like" Forum, or someone needs to restart it in the proper forum, it'll get more traffic that way :)
