Well until Yas gets the crossbow from Ick n Krick it's quite simple honestly, I just got Rimebane rifle last night. And now on my 5thish HoR norm run on her, I looted the bow. I asked ofc if it was fine if I could to see if it would increase my DPS, so, question.

Is Rimebane Rifle better than Crypt Fiend Slayer, or is the bow better than the gun?

Here is a comparison between the two.

The rifle has more AP and more Crit, whereas the bow has Haste and Hit and a higher low/high end damage. If you need the Hit, go with the bow, otherwise the gun.

tyvm for the heads up. Since I don't need hit- 300 hit lol with/without the bow, I'll go with the gun.

I personally like guns myself. They're slower but they do more damage. I don't see why they are slower though; it takes more time to load a bow with an arrow than it is with a gun that's already loaded.

If you notice the rifle animations, they load a round before every shot... takes a lot more time to stick a round inside the chamber than it does to notch an arrow.

*Coughs* But really, I've both of the above, and the crossbow from Ick and Krick, and I still prefer the bow. I don't use it when I instance, usually, but I use it for everything else.

Also, guns suck.

The bow actually has better stats for a survival hunter. Also if you use a troll, that's like 1 extra crit. XD

since the option to craft my own bows has never been open to engineering

I prefer bows. I won't use a gun unless I absolutely would be stupid not to go with it as an upgrade.

I love bows. I've played with both, and I love the sound, and feeling when you take down a creature with your pet and your arrows.
