Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this or has any ideas. I already have all the children's week pets, but if I go through the quests and get the pet to just leave it in my bags until pandaria can I then sell that one still keeping the one I earned years ago?

Those pets are soulbound, like other pets obtained via quests. It's pretty unlikely that Blizzard will change that, is my guess.

Touche.

Okay, like MOST other pets obtained via quests.

Actually, the Children's Week pets *are* 'boxable' pets. So while you can't sell them with the BoP side, unless Blizzard changes it, they *are* pets that you can 'box up' and put on the AH.
Considering they're quest pets, I suspect that this was an oversight, so don't expect it to stay that way!

I was taking a look through my pets on beta, and it seemed that any pet that was re-obtainable was able to be boxed! Although, wild caught pets cannot be boxed now. But pets from vendor sources or repeatable quest (ie childrens week) can be boxed, holiday pets (feline familiar etc) can be boxed.
I am still disappointed by the removal of being able to box wild caught pets...guess I'll just have to focus on leveling up vendor pets to sell.

technically, the Dalaran rewards from Children's Week quests would be called "slavery", no?

Only if you are looking at it from an RP perspective, then it might be viewed as such from some peoples points.
However, outside of RP, no. Since they are nothing more then programmed bits of data, the term "slavery" does not apply.

So would the crab pet that comes from the fishing dailies be boxable? I just got one the other day on one of my alts but he already knew it thanks to the shared pets/mounts thing from the patch.

I think on live, if you right click a pet in your pet tab, pets that will be boxable have the option to be "put in a box". Though you can't actually box pets until MoP goes live.

This is correct. And the pets that will NOT be boxable don't have the option at all.

Ah, cool. I'll check the crab tonight. I nearly threw it away but mentioned getting it to a friend and she suggested keeping it to see if it was tradeable next week. Fortunately, it was on my 'temporary' warrior who's only level 53 and thus has a ton of bag and bank space.
On a side note, I've been trying to keep track of the wild pets I've run across while leveling the alt. I ran across the minifernals in Felwood over the weekend and definitely need to get one of those.

ok, maybe a stupid question but...
I'm not sure I completely understand the whole pokém....pet battle thing.
We can capture "wild" critters? and use them for these pet battles?
And once one of these critters is captured, can we use it as a "companion" pet?
While leveling my baby-Paladin this week I found some of the CUTEST little critters that I had never seen before. Mini versions of larger mobs, like babies. incredibly cute.

Yes. yes.
Yes.
(Check your pet journal [shift-p] to see if the critter you want is listed.)
