I picked up a Soulkeeper the other day for cheep unsure of what I was going to do with it. I ended up getting t13 shoulders and it sent me on a path for gear that ended up working really for me, especially as an UD hunter. I ran a Well of Eternity after I got my set together and as a Night Elf it just didn't look as cool to my ugly-loving eyes.

I was going to Scarlet Monastery and I noticed that Soulkeeper was it's own light source. Maybe everyone already knows that it is but I wanted to share. It made everything look pretty dramatic in the dark.

Ah Soulkeeper! I forgot where it dropped from but I do remember getting a few positive whispers/comments about it when it was equipped on my warlock back-in-the-day.

Things that light up seem to find me XD

I will go out on a limb and say all the lantern offhands cast the same glow, not as dramatic as the staff but still cool.
