WoW Petopia Community

Anyone else that has access to MoP beta that cannot play? Or am I the only one? I have given up on downloading and trying to install. I am extremely upset because I REALLY wanted to be able to play, but I can't. :/

I was perfectly okay on waiting for my invite. This though, not even being able to DOWNLOAD the damn game, I am highly upset about. :/

It's currently down for maintenance to install the new patch, if you're referring to this very moment. Realms are estimated to be back up within 2-6 hours currently.

No I am talking in general. I download the file from my Battle.net account, and I can't even install the game....I keep getting Error #1 and everything I have tried does not work. :/

Ahh, sorry to hear that. I'm afraid I'm not sure what the problem might be then.

Yeah I don't know what to do. I expected problems in the beta in actually playing, but not simply downloading it. :/ I feel like I am the only person with this problem because I cannot seem to find anything that works.

I had error after error after error, not downloading it, but trying to get it to open once I did download it. What helped me was googling each error and trying each fix. Eventually one would work then it would be on to fix the next error. Finally I just launched it directly from the account section of Blizzard.net. That worked and I haven't *knock on a big damn chunk of wood* had any problems. I havent tried to log on since the new patch though so ya never know.

I guess I am just going to have to attempt it again then. I just got so frustrated that nothing I did would work and it was ALWAYS the same bloody error #1. :/

I tried a couple times (can't find time ot actually download for the most part) and gave up. XD Its rather sad that the beta (yes i know its a beta) is this plagued with issues when you're simply downloading and installing.

I was invited to beta over a month ago, and still I'm getting the 'login servers are busy' message. And yes, I have tried everything.

All of the problems I've had have been solved by Googling, but if you've tried that and nothing ... that truly sucks.

I'd be careful about googling answers to WoW problems; unsafe sites with key words can get you hacked.

isn't there a support line for the beta in that respect? I never had that problem in past tests I've participated in, but ... still?

@Kalliope: I turn off Java and Flash, that covers 99% of risk in my experience. Plus, I generally go to the results on known sites like Blizzard's own forums, wowhead, mmochampion, etc etc.

*nods to Morven* Yep, I figured that's what you did! Just wanted to spelled out for those who might not think to restrict it.

Yeah I've lurked the beta technical support forums since I got my invite, and nothing suggested works. I guess I gotta depend on you guys for my beta info.
