As promised in my other posting: a list of the 'old world' stuff that people want to see tameable! I tried to pack a couple together (Talbuks and Stags are both popular, but I tucked them together in one line for instance, since IMO they'd make a good single family) so as to get as many in as possible.

Note: with only 10 choices, I couldn't fit everything in here, and so there's a nice, big 'OTHER' for those who aren't specified. So if you have a choice that's not in the list, make sure you explain what your 'other' is! Who knows? We may get some really big 'bubbles' there as well!

List checked against http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10346, and I tried to pick the ones that had A) the most obvious potential for 'rich families', and B) the ones I had seen people wanting badly. So hopefully I didn't miss any popular choices! Just because it didn't make the list doesn't mean that people can't flood the 'others' section with their wants. Just that there's only so much space available.

Stags/talbuks, so much. I would probably tame a Hydra and a Hippogryph but I could live without. Stags and talbuks, though ...

Wyverns also didnt get posted up there as an option :3 id love for a hippogryph and a wyvern and of course the hydra ^^

Aren't Wyverns and Hippogryphs described as being sentient? If so it would be unlikely they'd ever become tamable.

yea both of them to different degrees are sentient but people have and will never stop questioning that degree and theres always the argument that taming isnt controlling but befriending something ^^ Ive been wanting wyverns for years and im always one to put down the idea of a phoenix or dragon as a tamed creature

I have always been in favor of hydras, hippogryphs, wyverns, and gryphons becoming tamable. While it's true the later three have been argued as being too "evolved" to become hunter pets, I honestly don't see why a hunter couldn't build a trusting, symbiotic relationship with any of those species. The argument against it makes the whole taming ordeal seem as though the purpose of pets is to serve and obey hunters rather than building a bond of trust and companionship. I'd much rather think of my pets as friends than just creatures bound to my command. That's just my two cents on the subject.

Pfft we can tame apes that are most likely as smart as the hunters who tame them I mean hippogrriffs, wyverns, and griffons I don't think in terms of brains are not that much brightter (if any)so I can't see why not. They aint that smart. I mean they still are beasts unlike say Dragons or Yetis that can act like beasts but are not so I can see how they could be tameable.

If that is a bit hard to understand I'm basicly saying we can tame great apes so why not Hippogriffs,Wyverns and Griffons?

Stags and talbuks mostly, I've been desperate for stags ever since I started my first hunter in vanilla and walked all the way over to Ashenvale to tame one of the black ones only to find I couldn't. I absolutely love talbuks as well and would be over the moon to see them tameable.

In fact hoofed mammals in general so horses, zhevras, rams and hippogryphs would be amazing.

Anything labelled beast. If it's an animal I feel like we should be able to tame it. We can tame spiders made of rocks, after all. I totally want to attack Alliance with a griffin, though.

For myself, I'd like to see hydras and stags tameable. Hydras are so, so awesome, and stags hold special meaning to me, so the ability to tame them would be such a great joy. I don't have much hope for stags, though, while, on the other hand, I fully expect to be able to tame a hydra SOMEDAY. They have a family and everything!

I also put down pterrordaxes and stegodons. I wouldn't tame either one (... probably), but I'd be so excited for Mia.

This is really interesting to see. Thanks for posting it For myself I was surprised to see that gryphons and hippogryphs were up there at the top with basilisks and hydras. Not surprised because of their suitability.. I think they could be pretty awesome as pets... but surprised because I don't often hear people mentioning them. The rest were far more expected.

It's (so far) interesting to compare this vote to the "new models" one. I think the more clear-cut difference in this one may be due to both people having developed definite favourites over the years and also the fact that there are more options for your 5 votes. In the other topic there are only 8 options total and with 5 votes most of them get covered. I'd be interested to see how the other vote looked if people had been restricted to, say, 3 votes.

Maybe after this you could do a play-off vote of the popular ones from each. And maybe in that one you could also add the few that didn't make either, like wyverns. Oh and spore walkers.

I don't think stags should be, but kodo/clefthoof sure.

I really want to be able to tame fenstriders. Those glowing long-legged tripods in Zangarmarsh. I have a thing for glowing pets, and Boglash killed me so many times, I'd like to teach him how to kill other people FOR me.

i want Mana serpents. They are currently marked as dragonkin but seem very very lesser and may even be the adult form on mana wyrms(that are beasts) you find in outland.
I also want marsh walkers/striders.
