I've decided that my hunter in the *official* Petopians guild will only tame (asides from temperary) pets that are rare, and only of the same lv as the hunter is.

So far I have Tamed at lv 13, Dishu, the lv 13 cheetah rare, from the barrens (other cats of this model can't be tamed till lv 25 in 1000needles). I did die once on this tame as I forgot that she summoned cubs...luckly that ability has a CD so I was able to rez fast and tame again before she was able to summon them again. When I hit lv 20, I wasn't sure what I wanted to tame, and it wasn't until lv 23 that I decided on the white worg Lupos in Duskwood. I almost didnt make this tame as many of the wolves in that area where giving me way too much exp. as I moved around the area. Not to mention all the discovered new areas running up from Bootybay to get to duskwood...and the run back to nab the grim'gol FP. I was less then 1/2 bar to ding when Lupos appeared. A frost trap and tame, and he stood next to me. Yay!
Hmmmm now what to tame next.....*wonders off to look at pets*

Hehe, yep. Eventually I'll get to taming them all, and posting about it here or some similar thread.

I can't say that I'm quite as dedicated a hunter, so I'm just going to tame pets that I think look cool. But I do want to try taming Humar as soon as I get Taigi up another level, and since he's elite/rare that should be a challenge
