Isn't that a gastropod, and not a mollusk?

Not sure if mollusks would make great pets, they'd just clam-up on you... Taking care of them would be expensive, you'd really have to shell out. :?

All gastropods are molluscs. It's like how all monkeys are primates.

ok, it's been a while since I've studied that... except in chowder.. or with some melted butter...

While not the same, I'd like to see some hermit crabs.

I think the mount idea is better than tameable pet. Unless we ever get another water zone again, then there quite a few molluscs that would work well as pets. (I would be partial to the ammonite family).

There is a snail pet, his name is Scooter lol. As for tamable...I'd have to say no. As for mount...I think of the racing snail from Neverending Story heh.

Fear mollusks if you are wise - the real reason for dinosaur extinction was a sudden plague of carnivorous land clams.

See that long tube thing on that cone snail? That is it's harpoon it uses to kill it's prey. It's venom is so strong that it can instantly kill anything it shoots it's harpoon into, besides humans, which can die from the lethal venom in under 4 minutes.

Please, fear the cone snail.

Been wanting one for a long time, so no, you're definitely not alone in wanting them tameable. :)

There's one here in Australia that will kill humans too :S

Of course you'd have to pick it up. It can't very well hunt you down ;). So maybe it wouldn't make the best hunter pet. But still, the lethality is there.

Sounds like it would make a nifty hunter trap though!

(And my "reasons to wear sealed powered armor when in Australia" just increased. Thanks Wain!) :P

Here is a suggestion for ability

Mollusk

Exotic

Special Ability; Jet of Goo

Your mollusk spit out a gooey substance to a target that increases magic damage taken.

Exotic Ability Slimy Trace

Your mollusk leaves an icky puddle of 'mysterious' liquid in it's wake that slows any enemy that walks into it by 50%. Each Puddle lasts for 5 seconds and and only 3 traces of puddles is active at the same time.

Octopi and Squid are mollusks too...
Needles to say, mollusk pet family is a DO WANT. *-*
