Found some tamable ravens in northern Kun-Lai Summit. They are called Upland Raven. I believe that it was level 87 but I am crashing every few seconds so I can not be sure.

All sorts of surprises in this build!
I love the idea of a raven pet, though I'm not sure I'm quite sold on this particular model. I have the same reservations about the seagulls though. Still, I'm happy since I know a lot of people have been wanting these.

I know how you feel. I am crashing every 5 seconds. I really want to tame a Yak and see if the grey tiger is now tamable but they are too far into the zone that i can not reach them.

Oh i've been waiting for these! Great find
I'm a bit surprised they ended up in the bird of prey family instead of the carrion bird one but this is great regardless...it may actually be better since Birds of Prey can perform the "Trick" command which should be available to this skin!

Yeah... they... need to be in carrion bird.

Like, honestly, that's what ravens are. <_<
And we totally have enough birds of prey. -_-
Either way, though, Espen will tame this in a heartbeat!
Hm... to name it Hugin or Munin... Maybe name the pet one name and the Gilnean Raven mini pet the other name...
Gah, more stable fixing! *facedesk*

To be honest, this is a little bit of an old gripe of mine as well, but also stemming from Dire Raven's in blades edge.

I had one and they use to be Carrion Birds, and I Loved the small aoe threat it put out with it's screech, It was always was enough to keep extra adds off me from the threat of a mend pet and on her. That and it was ferocity which I preferred also. But then they did a sweeping homogenization of all models being in the same family. And as the same model was also named, Crows, Ravens, and Hawks in other areas around WOW, for some reason they all ended up being hawks? Which was even more odd because the model was originally created for the NElf storm CROW flight form. (which made me a sad panda). She could not hold any extra adds, she was not as strong as she once was solo or in raid... and so I took her back to blades edge and let her go back and play with the others.
TL;DR Crows and Ravens a definitely carrion birds, not really Birds of Prey

Well, if we wanna split biological hairs, dividing flesh eating birds into hunters and scavengers isn't easy and is largely an artificial distinction. Crows do indeed prey on live animals, making them "bird of prey" Indeed, they are one of the only animals to successfully prey on introduced cane toads in Australia. They also eat carrion, making them scavengers.
Seagulls, the another bird we associate with scavenging (and are in the carrion bird family) are accomplished predators for fish, rodents and other small prey. But they know an easy meal when they see one.
Bald eagles, which are to many people the pinnacle of a predatory bird, get a substantial portion of their diet from carrion, yet classed in game and real life as birds of prey.
To be perfectly accurate about it, "bird of prey" refers to raptorial birds. Raptorial birds include hawks, owls, eagles, buzzards, condors, and vultures. Those should comprise the bird of prey family.
As for carrion birds, there really shouldn't be a carrion bird family, as nearly all the classic scavengers (which is what carrion bird means: a bird that eats carrion aka dead flesh it did not kill and therefor has scavenged) are now neatly tucked away with the other raptorial birds where they belong. We're left with crows, ravens and parrots. Crows and ravens, based on diet, irl, and NOT taxonomy could share a group. Parrots don't belong with any of them, but due to the range of their diets irl, from pure fruit and seed to animal protein, could perhaps share a spot with crows and seagulls. However, to the best of my knowledge, parrots rarely if even scavenge, which would set them apart from crows and seagulls.
But, back to the game. Yay ravens! I've wanted one for ages and look forward to summoning my murder of crows with my raven pet out

Yeah, I'm basing the classification on strategy (and presumably combat behaviour) rather than taxonomy. If you had to lump them into one of the two families, both crows and seagulls would be more like squabbling, scrounging, crafty scavengers and less like "stealth swoop" birds
